Just as Hogg managed to hold Slaanesh in a stalemate for ten thousand years by sacrificing his dignity, the Useless Brothers, relying on their innate talent for slacking off and rotting away, also managed to hold Tzeentch in a stalemate for ten thousand years—and both were eventually kicked out.
However, unlike Hogg, who could remain unafraid of corruption, Curze and Corvus Corax were forced to unleash their true essences, successfully ascending to daemonhood within the Change Sky, becoming indistinguishable from Greater Daemons of the Warp.
Perhaps because Tzeentch had held high hopes for them at the start, their Warp essences were not reclaimed by the Chaos God but were instead preserved intact.
After ten thousand years of slacking off and refusing to leave, Tzeentch became utterly disappointed in the pair. Fearing that these two layabouts would soil his lair, he used a mix of coaxing and deception to send them back to the mortal realm, cutting his losses for his initial mistake.
But the two brothers who returned to the Imperium of Man were tainted. Although they could usually disguise themselves in their original forms, their true bodies remained those of Warp daemons, and by extension, the Night Lords and the Raven Guard suffered the same fate, awakening various Tzeentch-themed abilities.
These included psychic spells like displacement, a passive ability that made their speech more convincing, greatly enhanced shadow-stealing capabilities, the ability to drain psychic energy from enemies, and the use of unreliable sorcery fueled by souls.
It looked impressive and powerful, but these minor skills were all within the realm of psionic energy, and the two legions inevitably slid toward their Primarchs, with some even turning into little monsters.
The Raven Guard were better off; at least the Raven lacked any metaphysical flair, and they wouldn't attract attention while
