Looking over the battle reports in his hands, he could tell the crusade was moving faster. Their efficiency had improved by nearly eight percent compared to usual. The legions on the front lines in particular were reclaiming territory even faster than they had during the Great Crusade.
The Emperor didn't give the phenomenon much thought. By his calculations, the enemies of the Second Crusade weren't particularly powerful. Aside from a few larger species, they weren't in the same league as their previous opponents.
Besides, after ten thousand years of fighting, the Imperial Army had gained a clear understanding of both Chaos and Xenos. With the massive Astra Militarum pressing the attack, it was no surprise their pace had increased.
Still, strange things were bound to have a reason, so the Emperor stayed alert. He took out the device that went with his Monitor, intending to see what that dog Hogg was up to.
The screen flickered with static, then gradually sharpened. The Emperor could finally see what was on the other end.
