As the saying went, every trade had its own specialty. Hogg was perfectly happy to leave the silly kid off to the side, rolling figurines between his hands. But now he was facing a rather important problem: how to provide Blackwatch with some flashy skill templates—or, in other words, active skills.
In the Imperium, every Legion had its own special function. That was by design when the Emperor created the Primarchs.
Take the Imperial Fists and the Iron Warriors, for example. Those two construction-brotherhood Legions were clearly meant for defensive battles or sieges. In peacetime, they could also put in the hard labor and build infrastructure for the Imperium.
A construction worker's life was all hard labor. That thought sent Hogg's mind wandering, and he found himself thinking of his own diligent Dantioch. It was no wonder Pepe didn't want him anymore. The Iron Warriors were a whole Legion of squat little guys, and then one day along came a four-meter-tall giant. Anyone would have wondered if the kid was really his.
You wouldn't believe it, but in just eight years, Dantioch had grown taller than Perturabo. Add that huge bushy beard of his, and when he stood somewhere, anyone who didn't know better would have thought he was a Primarch!
A while back, Hogg and Perturabo had shared a meal. Pepe was still the same stubbornly proud guy, always showing off his abilities in front of Malice, but never actually saying what he wanted. Good thing he'd stopped using Decimation, or the Iron Warriors would have been in for a rough time!
