When they returned to the workshop, each Primarch was holding a tiny clone and had thoughtfully made it a suit of Power Armour modeled after his own.
The Angel and the others had it easy, but the animal group could only get pet vests. Hogg alone looked troubled as he took out the dragon fruit he'd drawn a smiley face on with a marker.
Everything was ready except the final push. Now that the crucial moment had arrived, Hogg stopped agonizing over it. So what if it was a dragon fruit? As long as he could get the projection into the other world, that was all that mattered.
Besides, he had a feeling that the dragon fruit in his hand was no ordinary one. There was a sense of blood ties between them.
Just like the lottery array the Emperor had made, each array could only be activated once every two years, at minimum. It could only reach worlds of a lower level; it couldn't break through the thick Veil and penetrate worlds on a higher plane.
As the plasma engines roared, their power was converted by a special device into energy to charge the arrays. A tiny aperture appeared in front of each Primarch.
They didn't hold a lottery this time. As soon as the apertures appeared, the little Primarchs, who had been waiting for this moment, leaped straight through to infiltrate another dimension. Hogg casually tossed his dragon fruit after them.
As the dragon fruit was stuffed into the spacetime tunnel, Hogg felt a portion of his Psionic Energy reserves being siphoned away. But since the dragon fruit had no eyes, he couldn't see what was happening on the other side.
Meanwhile, the other Primarchs wore a range of expressions, as though they'd witnessed something extraordinary.
