When Hogg learned that Sera had become brain-dead from absorbing souls, he'd felt that something was off. After all, putting himself in her shoes, even without her own higher-dimensional traits, she shouldn't have been this useless.

After more than ten thousand years of purification, she should have gone from brain-dead to merely stupid, at least gaining some self-awareness. She shouldn't have ended up like this, only able to babble and drool.

Now Hogg understood. Sera's soul hadn't split apart on its own. The Emperor had forcibly cut it to pieces.

Looking at the white Cat-folk pinned to the Sword of the Emperor like fruit on a skewer, Hogg couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.

"This is unbelievable. Why is she stuck in this position? What on earth happened back then?"

At Hogg's question, the Second Legion's warriors fell silent. Sera's current position was certainly bizarre: her rear was thrust high in the air, a gigantic sword driven straight through her and into the ground.

And with her enormous white Cat-folk body, she looked just like a heat-struck kitty that had been neutered. It was as humiliating as it could get.

"We don't want this either. When that Doomsday came, we were dragged into this Consciousness Space. We looked up and saw our Legion Commander like this. She couldn't talk, so how were we supposed to know what to do?"

Hogg knew he was being a bit of a jerk, but he couldn't help himself.

The others had spent decades with Sera, and had developed some inexplicable "she's an invincible strongwoman" filter. But Hogg was different. He'd known her for twenty days at most. Just a moment ago, Sera had been the governor
