Some things were impossible to believe unless you saw them with your own eyes. Like a place such as the White Tower Council—if you had not seen it for yourself, who would believe that a meeting hall like this could exist in the cracks between worlds?

And now, while The Emperor and his sons were attending a meeting together, another meeting was being held inside the White Tower.

To be precise, it was more like a group of people taking turns interrogating one other person.

"Is everything you said true?"

"Of course, madam. Why would I lie about something like this? You know me. Ever since I swore to become a merchant, I have never lied to any of my customers. I even tell them the true price directly."

The Treefolk gave a courteous bow. He wore a brown robe and looked rather plain, but his withered-branch-like hands were covered in rings. Every single one was a masterpiece that could shock the world, flawless in appearance, and even precious magical treasures.

The person—or thing—he addressed as madam snorted coldly from not far away. She looked like nothing more than a cluster of white Light Spots, yet bizarrely, a pair of fluffy pink cat ears sat atop her head. Such an absurd contrast was truly rare.

"I don't trust you," the ball of light said coldly. "Who knows whether you've been communicating privately with those bastards from Eternal Heaven? Also, the way you've been dressing lately is far too nouveau riche. What's going on with you?"

"My style of dress? I recently went to some backwater, madam. The local Mages there were extremely interested in a Treefolk like me who could move about freely. To avoid certain unnecessary troubles, I had no choice but to wear these treasures on my hands."
