Yes, you remembered. As familiar as breathing, as opening your mouth to speak, or hearing someone call your name. You knew it because it had long since been buried deep in your bones.

Saul Tarvitz's eyes nearly split as he tried to rush forward, only for Russ to stop him outright. The Wolf King placed his right hand on his shoulder. He did not seem to use any strength, yet Saul could not move an inch.

Russ narrowed his eyes and said with an almost eerie calm, "Fulgrim will be fine. Did you hear that?"

Saul had no time to ask the question, because right after Russ finished speaking, he heard the sound Russ had mentioned.
The sound was faint and slick, mixed with the tiny rasp of scales rubbing together. Russ smiled soundlessly, released his right hand, and Mjolnir came out of its sheath with a ring.
"Hiding and skulking. Demons are always like this," he said in a clear voice, while lowering his head and winking at Saul. "Why not show yourselves?"
Gray mist surged out of the void, like morning fog in the woods at the break of dawn. But compared to that harmless, beautiful sight, this gray mist made one's eyeballs ache just to look at it. Even through his goggles, Saul could not help narrowing his eyes.
