Guilliman had only just stepped out of the cabin when he heard a familiar voice. Marneus Calgar stood before them in plain clothes. Aside from him, no one else had come to greet them on the landing pad atop the high-rise.

"—I came alone."

Calgar finally finished his sentence. He sighed, and Roboute Guilliman knew that meant he was about to start complaining about something again. Guilliman smiled and cut him off first.

"Yes, I am very sorry I made you come alone, and I am also very sorry I pulled you away from the Legion ahead of time, Calgar—but you are the Regent of Macragge. Do I need to remind you of anything else?"

".No, Primarch."

"Good. Then come and meet my brothers."

After saying this, Guilliman was quite pleased to see Calgar's expression change drastically in the span of a few short seconds. At first he was calm, but the sight of Sanguinius turned that calm into shock, while Konrad Curze behind Sanguinius made his fingers twitch involuntarily. In the end, Calgar forced his expression back into a false composure.

"Macragge is honored..." Calgar began dryly. "To welcome the Angel of Baal today, and, and... the one from Nostramo—"

"—No need to say that part."

Guilliman made a gesture, then glanced back at Curze. The latter smiled at him as harmlessly as could be. Guilliman shook his head and walked straight ahead, and Calgar hurriedly followed his Primarch.

A meaningful smile appeared at the corner of Sanguinius's mouth. He did not follow immediately, instead asking softly, "Don't you think Roboute seems more at ease after coming back here?"

"That has nothing to do with us, Sanguinius. Don't tell me you can't see it."

Curze turned his head, his eyes narrowing slightly, Sanguinius's handsome face reflected
