Background

Before becoming Pope, Bibi Dong was Martial Soul Hall's Holy Maiden. A Sky Screen account depicts her rescuing the child Yang Guo during a soul-ring hunt and arranging for him to study at the Martial Soul Hall Academy. In the present, she cannot remember him and suspects that the severe spiritual damage she suffered while imprisoned by Qian Xunji erased parts of her past. 126 127

She inherited the Rakshasa God's power and later ascended to the papacy with Qian Daoliu's support. 18 Her rule was built on Qian Xunji's death: when confronted by Martial Soul Hall elders, she admitted that the Sky Screen's accusations were true. The subsequent official notice charged her with assassinating Qian Xunji, framing Tang Hao, deceiving the elders, and usurping the papal throne. 38 40

Fall from Martial Soul Hall

Bibi Dong faced a palace coup after Lingyuan Douluo, Ghost Leopard Douluo, and Demon Bear Douluo demanded justice for Qian Xunji. She fought them with the Death Spider Emperor, but the restrictions imposed by her Rakshasa God Trial prevented her from overwhelming the three elders. 38 39

Qian Daoliu removed her as Pope and ordered a continent-wide manhunt. He permitted her to retain and manage the network of followers she had cultivated, but only from the shadows. 40

After her expulsion, she hid at a Martial Soul branch hall in Nuoding City before returning to political power through the Haagen-Dazs Kingdom. 70 118

Spirit Kingdom

The King of Haagen-Dazs abdicated in Bibi Dong's favor, after which she renamed the state the Spirit Kingdom. Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo supported her takeover despite her continuing resentment toward Martial Soul Hall. 118

She views the kingdom as the first step toward continental conquest. Rather than merely becoming a queen, she declares her ambition to become “the Empress of the entire continent.” 117

Appearance

Bibi Dong is depicted as an exceptionally beautiful woman with a cold, imposing aura. As Holy Maiden, she wears a purple gown; as Pope and in battle, she carries a scepter and manifests spider-type Martial Souls. 130 138

  • Refined, youthful-looking features despite her age. 142
  • Cold and intimidating presence. 130
  • Purple formal attire as the Holy Maiden. 130
  • Blood-red eyes when her Rakshasa power is active. 18

Personality

Bibi Dong is intensely ambitious, proud, and unwilling to submit even when politically isolated or physically outmatched. After losing the papal throne, she immediately seeks a new base of power and plans to unify the continent through the Spirit Kingdom. 40 117 118

Her pride makes humiliation especially intolerable. She responds with fury when a masked rescuer calls her a failure, and she reacts bitterly after Xue Hen dismisses her god-level power as mediocre. 102 104

Her behavior toward Qian Renxue is conflicted. She considers being called Qian Renxue's mother a source of shame, yet becomes alarmed when she believes Yuan Qi may eventually threaten her daughter and places herself between Yuan Qi and Yang Guo to demand answers. 138 145 146
