Background / History

Early life and sword instruction

Qian Xunji is the son of Qian Daoliu, the Pope of Martial Soul Hall. Before becoming Pope himself, he was regarded as a cultivation genius: he reached the Soul Saint realm before age thirty, possessed the Six-Winged Angel martial soul, and mastered the complete Angel Sword Technique. 14

When Qian Daoliu recognized Murong Huai’s extraordinary sword talent, he assigned Qian Xunji to instruct him. Qian Xunji accepted Murong Huai as his junior brother and personally corrected the child’s basic forms, sword posture, intent, and mentality. 14 15

Martial soul evolution

After Murong Huai returned from the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, Qian Xunji received the Sacred Flame Radiance Lotus. Consuming it evolved his Six-Winged Angel into the Sacred Radiance Seraph, a higher martial soul that unified light, fire, and sacred attributes. The Angel God Statue then bestowed Angel’s Blessing upon him, recognizing his potential to inherit godhood. 44 45

Two-year grassroots trial

At age twenty-eight, Qian Daoliu ordered Qian Xunji to spend two years among commoners before succeeding as Pope. His martial soul was sealed to conceal his Qian-family identity, leaving him to rely on his swordsmanship, spirit power, and a golden sword forged by Qian Daoliu. 47 61

During the journey, he saved villages from spirit beast attacks, refused payment from impoverished residents, and awakened martial souls for children who otherwise lacked access to an awakening ceremony. These experiences exposed him to the hardship and inequality faced by ordinary people. 65 66

Pope of Martial Soul Hall

Qian Xunji returned to Martial Soul City after completing his trial and succeeded Qian Daoliu as Pope. His firsthand experience of the continent’s inequality shaped his aim of creating a more prosperous and equitable order. 75 76 101

As Pope, he took Bibi Dong as his disciple, intending to name her the Holy Maiden after her graduation from Martial Soul Academy. Though his own martial soul was ill-suited to poison instruction, he arranged other specialists to teach her relevant techniques. 104

He later appointed Murong Huai as Adjudication Elder and entrusted him with the five-thousand-man Judgment Heavenly Army, beginning Martial Soul Hall’s campaign to bring the continent’s major sects under its authority. 221 229

Founding of the Spirit Hall Empire

Qian Xunji worked with Murong Huai and the Martial Soul Hall leadership to prepare the conquest of the two great empires. He revealed that Martial Soul Hall had maintained an extensive covert-agent network inside the Star Luo Empire for decades, intended to paralyze its military response when war began. 263

After the continent’s unification, he established the Spirit Hall Empire and became its Emperor. He created the Six Ministries system and appointed officials based on merit and contribution, including Murong Huai as both Privy Council Chief and Chancellor. 294

Angel God inheritance

During his ninth Angel God Trial, the God Realm crisis interrupted Qian Xunji’s inheritance. The Angel God ordered him to finish ascending as quickly as possible and provide support against the Asura God’s rebellion. 312
