Beneath Kakkō's feet, the earth swelled and heaved violently.

Soil and stone surged together as though alive.

A hideous dragon's head, formed from solid rock, rapidly took shape.

Kakkō roared, a savage grin spreading across his face.

The rocky dragon head lunged at Guy with a roar, claws and fangs bared.

It was incredibly fast.

Its force was overwhelming.

The dragon head tore up the ground as it charged.

Soil and stone clung to it, forming what looked like a body.

A huge, terrifying Earth Dragon rose from the ground!

Judging by its force and chakra fluctuations, one thing was clear.

This was a powerful Earth Release technique, at least B-rank and possibly A-rank!

If it struck, the destruction would be devastating.

Yet as Guy watched the mighty Earth Dragon bear down on him,

he shook his head in disappointment.

Arrogant fool. No wonder twelve-year-old Kakashi managed to kill him...

The technique was powerful, and it was fast.

It looked intimidating, too.

But hitting someone as agile and swift as Guy?

Not a chance!

Guy could already tell the Earth Dragon had consumed a large share of Kakkō's chakra.

Kakkō was only an ordinary Jonin.

His chakra reserves were limited.

A B-rank technique, let alone an A-rank one, was enormously costly.

And against an enemy whose strength he didn't know—

one whose abilities he hadn't even tested—

Kakkō had opened with a chakra-hungry finishing move.

After this, his chakra would surely be depleted for a while.

He wouldn't be able to use another powerful technique.

To Guy, that was an utterly foolish way to fight.

His interest faded.

With combat instincts that poor and judgment that flawed,

Kakkō no longer deserved to be his opponent.
