Personality

Vegeta is fiercely proud of his status as the Prince of Saiyans and repeatedly insists that he should be the strongest Saiyan. Goku surpassing him is a persistent source of anger, and he is equally unsettled when Namekians such as Biro begin to approach his strength 5 23.

Despite his pride, Vegeta is relentlessly committed to training. He prioritizes raising his base combat power and rejects Super Saiyan 3 as too inefficient, believing its extreme energy consumption makes the transformation a flawed path 25 29. His priorities also grow more protective over time: he is deeply alarmed by Trunks’s injury and argues that Frieza should not be spared because of the danger he poses to Earth 46 50.

Namek and Android Conflict

After the Namek conflict, Vegeta’s combat power approaches 3 million 8. He later becomes a Super Saiyan and defeats Android 19, but Android 17 overwhelms him. Training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber improves his power, though Android 18 still defeats him through superior endurance 9 10.

Cell Aftermath and Majin Buu
