By the end, even Piccolo couldn't help covering his sensitive ears. Son Goku, meanwhile, just scratched his head with a grin, as if he didn't mind at all.
Deep in the mountains, Raditz lay facedown on the ground, utterly defeated. He stared blankly at He Lingxuan standing over him, a trace of fear in his eyes, but still didn't move. His helpless expression seemed to say, Do whatever you want.
As for what He Lingxuan had done to him, nothing much. They'd simply had a friendly little chat.
And how had they chatted?
He'd beaten Raditz half to death, then healed him with a Senzu Bean. The healing had caused Raditz's battle power to soar, and he'd thought he could fight back. Then He Lingxuan had beaten him senseless again, before healing him with another Senzu Bean.
The cycle had repeated over and over until Raditz, freshly healed once more, had given up on resisting. He lay on the ground, apparently content to let He Lingxuan do whatever he wanted.
The repeated beatings had even pushed his battle power all the way to 200,000!
After that, it stopped increasing. Raditz had reached the limit of his potential.
"Well? Can you talk nicely now? Do you give in?" He Lingxuan asked with a beaming smile.
Raditz merely glanced at him, then went back to lying motionless on the ground.
Seeing this, He Lingxuan spoke again.
"If you don't get up, how about a few more rounds? You won't even answer my questions, so I'm starting to think there's no point in keeping you alive."
At the mention of a few more rounds, Raditz sprang back to life and scrambled to his feet, answering cautiously.
"I give in! I give in!"
"Good. I thought you were still putting up a fight. By the way, after beating you for so long, I seem to have forgotten to tell you my name." He Lingxuan pretended to ponder the matter, then looked at Raditz in confusion.
Raditz had no idea what he was up to, so he cautiously nodded.
"My name is He Lingxuan. I'm a Saiyan too, but I chose this name myself. I've cast aside my old name."
As he finished speaking, He Lingxuan's expression suddenly turned flat, and an aura that warned others to keep their distance emanated from him.
Raditz immediately protested, "No way! That's impossible! The only Saiyans in this world are Prince Vegeta, our group, and Kakarot, who's out there on his own!"
But as soon as he'd said it, Raditz regretted it. He'd sounded far too worked up, and worried he'd offended He Lingxuan. He was terrified of getting another beating.
So Raditz quickly backed down. He stole a nervous glance at He Lingxuan and, seeing that he wasn't angry, finally relaxed.
Hearing this, He Lingxuan didn't look surprised at all. Instead, he replied with mild scorn, "Really? Then what about Vegeta's younger brother, who was exiled because his battle power was too low?
"And there are Saiyans scattered across the universe whom you know nothing about. There's no way you're the only ones."
"And I'm one of them. Back then, King Vegeta secretly disposed of me and another Saiyan child, Broly, who'd been born with a battle power of over ten thousand.
"I was lucky enough to survive for various reasons. Technically, that makes Vegeta my enemy."
The more Raditz heard, the more frightened he became. Cold sweat dripped down his forehead as he felt he'd stumbled upon some terrible secret and was about to die.
He was afraid He Lingxuan would kill him to keep him quiet. After all, he'd just said that he was in Prince Vegeta's squad.
Seeing how terrified Raditz was, He Lingxuan looked at him calmly. "I don't really care about that. Survival of the fittest, and all that. Still, once Vegeta comes to Earth, I'll have to give him a beating."
"As long as you stay on Earth and train, without causing trouble or throwing your weight around, I won't bother you. You can go." He Lingxuan waved Raditz away.
"Of course, if you want to get as strong as me, or just want to become stronger, come find me. I usually keep my battle power at exactly 1,000, so you should have a spare Scouter, right?"
With that, He Lingxuan turned and walked away.
Raditz watched him leave. After hesitating for a long while, he finally flew off into the deep mountains. With his strength, he could survive anywhere as long as he had food.
Piccolo and Son Goku had been waiting for a long time. When they saw He Lingxuan return alone, Piccolo asked in confusion, "Where is he? Did you kill him?"
"Kill him? No. I just told him to behave himself and stay on Earth."
Piccolo wasn't surprised. He nodded; with his own strength, he couldn't have stopped He Lingxuan from doing as he pleased.
Just then, Son Goku rushed over to He Lingxuan. "You know that Gravity Chamber you mentioned? Bulma says she can build one. But because of the materials, it'll only go up to fifty times gravity. It'll take a month to make the first one, since she and her dad will be building it together. She told me to go to her house and pick it up in a month."
He Lingxuan nodded as if that was only to be expected. "As for materials for the Gravity Chamber, you could take the Space Pod you used when you were little, along with Raditz's Space Pod, and have your friend process them. You might get a pleasant surprise."
Son Goku nodded thoughtfully, then looked at Kattiz's Space Pod, planning to take it to Bulma's house later.
On a planet occupied by the Frieza Force, Vegeta and Nappa stood at a base, their faces grave after learning about Earth through their Scouters' communication function.
"Vegeta, are we still going to Earth? According to this report, that Saiyan on Earth named He Lingxuan has a battle power of at least 18,000. And he was exiled by King Vegeta. It'll be dangerous if we go."
Nappa had been reluctant to go ever since he'd heard that Vegeta wanted to head to Earth. The danger was simply too great.
"Hmph! That's not necessarily true. All he did was break an old-model Scouter. Besides, if his battle power really is beyond anything we can handle, we can just leave.
"More importantly, Earth has a moon. We can go when there's a Full Moon, transform into Great Apes, and multiply our battle power tenfold. What's there to fear?"
Vegeta spoke with utter disdain, as if he didn't think much of He Lingxuan at all.
"But He Lingxuan's a Saiyan too. He should be able to transform into a Great Ape as well," Nappa said worriedly.
"So what if he can? I'm royalty. When I transform into a Great Ape, I keep my wits about me. Unlike those other Saiyans, who lose their minds when they transform."
Vegeta had naturally considered that possibility. But he'd remain in control after transforming, while his opponent might not. Even if He Lingxuan was stronger, Vegeta could use the opportunity to escape. So he still planned to take the risk.
