Earth's Current Situation

"So transforming into a Super Saiyan 4 requires a tail! But Vegeta and I don't have tails anymore. What's going on?"

Goku was baffled.

"Once your power in human form surpasses your power as a Great Ape, your tail stops growing back."

Gogito explained.

"So that means Kid Gohan's the only one who can grow a tail now."

"Huh?"

Goku looked a little disappointed. After seeing the Super Saiyan 4 form, he wanted to try transforming, too.

"If you can't grow a tail naturally, you can use an outside force. Aren't there still Dragon Balls on Earth?"

Gogito's words brought Goku right back to life.

"That's right! There are still Dragon Balls on Earth!"

Goku said excitedly.

Vegeta was tempted, too. If he could become a Super Saiyan 4 before Kakarot, he could finally surpass him.

At the thought, Vegeta clenched his fists in excitement.

After that, the group began training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Meanwhile, the two Bulmas were discussing something.

"This is incredible! You came up with such an amazing machine, and you even have the blueprints. I really am brilliant."

Bulma looked proud.

A stack of blueprints lay before her. They were for the Time Machine.

"Even with the blueprints, the design still needs work. There are a few problems to solve, and I need your help."

Future Bulma spoke to Bulma. She knew her younger self was just as talented and could help her finish building the Time Machine.

With Bulma's help, the Time Machine might be built earlier than it had been in the original story. Even though there was no longer any need to use it to travel to the past, Future Bulma still wanted to build it. She had devoted so many years to it—how could she give up now?

The two of them began the great task of researching the Time Machine.

As for Tights, she was gathering information about the Androids from all over. After seeing how tragic this world was, she desperately wanted to turn its story into a novel.

So Tights took to the skies in her plane, searching for survivors and telling them that the Androids had been defeated.

But the people didn't believe her. The crafty Androids had used that trick before, luring people out of hiding only to slaughter them.

Tights didn't give up. She kept traveling from place to place, telling everyone that the Androids had been destroyed.

Then, in one area, people found the remains of the Androids that Vegeta had blasted to pieces. At last, they believed the Androids were dead. The news spread rapidly, passing from one person to ten, then a hundred. Before long, every survivor on Earth knew. People poured out of their shelters, cheering until their cries rang through the sky.

Even the rising sun seemed to celebrate the hard-won peace.

Now, at Bulma's home, Krillin, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Master Roshi, and the others, freshly revived, were discussing what to do next.

They had visited Grand Kai's Planet before and seen its impressive martial arts culture. Back then, they had been dead and hadn't thought much about it. Now that they were alive again, and Earth had suffered one disaster after another, they wanted everyone on Earth to learn about martial arts and train in them. They hoped to develop Earth into a planet like Grand Kai's.

First King Piccolo had ruled the world, then the Saiyans had invaded Earth, Frieza had returned from the dead, and now the Androids had run amok. Earth had endured far too many disasters.

Earthlings needed to be able to protect themselves. No one expected them to defeat the invaders, especially since each new enemy was stronger than the last.

Every alien was a freak of nature. At first, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, and the others could just barely keep up, but over time they fell behind, until all they could do was watch Goku grow stronger and stronger.

Yamcha had accepted reality and started giving up on himself. Perhaps Bulma saw through him, which was why she broke up with him. Her man didn't have to be the strongest, but he couldn't lose his drive or abandon his dreams. And Vegeta had appeared before Bulma at just the right time.

Back then, Vegeta hadn't despaired when Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan. On the contrary, he trained even harder, though he was always cursing and complaining.

He also treated Bulma in a domineering way. When Bulma first met Yamcha, he had been bold, confident, and arrogant, too. That was what had attracted her to him. But at some point, Yamcha changed. He became timid and even acted weak around her. In the end, they broke up amicably, and Vegeta ended up with her.

Tien Shinhan was different. He kept training hard. During the Majin Buu period, he was still training deep in the mountains, but whenever Earth faced a crisis, he would step forward. He could be called the finest martial artist on Earth.

Krillin had also accepted reality, but he hadn't given up. He kept training and quietly did what little he could to help. By the Super era, Krillin had become a police officer, still silently protecting Earth.

At the Tournament of Power, every warrior from Earth had joined in except Yamcha. Perhaps that was because they all saw that Yamcha had lost his martial spirit.

But that was all in the future.

The urgent task was to rebuild their homes first, then spread martial arts.

As for how to develop martial arts, they still had no good ideas.

Inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber,

three months had passed there.

Goku was training both Gohans. Kid Gohan needed to build a solid foundation, so his power hadn't increased by much. Still, his battle power was already a little over ten thousand. Goku taught him techniques, how to control and use ki, and various ki blast skills. Even so, Kid Gohan's power had increased tremendously—dozens of times compared to before.

Future Gohan was learning alongside him. He had never received proper instruction and had figured things out on his own, bit by bit. If Future Gohan could build a solid foundation, those two Androids wouldn't stand a chance against him.

During the Cell period, Gohan went from being unable to transform into a Super Saiyan to reaching Super Saiyan 2 in less than a year. Part of that was thanks to Gohan's talent, but part of it was the foundation Goku had built for him. Goku had taken plenty of wrong turns along the way, so when he taught Gohan, he could help him avoid those same mistakes and make rapid progress from the start.

Having someone clear the path ahead of you was a completely different thing.

Future Gohan had now reached Super Saiyan Full Power and was just one step away from transforming into Super Saiyan 2.

Vegeta, meanwhile, was teaching Trunks. He had high hopes for his son and wanted him to surpass Kakarot's son. But Trunks idolized Future Gohan, which made Vegeta extremely frustrated, so he could only intensify their training. Trunks was now just one step away from reaching Super Saiyan Full Power.

While training Trunks, Vegeta kept up his own training and had already mastered the power of Super Saiyan 2. He had even made further progress beyond that.

Gogito, meanwhile, was getting used to Super Saiyan 4. Thanks to Vegito's talent, he trained at a tremendous pace. He had mastered the Super Saiyan 4 transformation and made it halfway to its full power. He only had halfway left to go before reaching Super Saiyan 4 Full Power.
