Broly, Defeated!

Gogito transformed into Super Saiyan Blue and raised a hand to block Broly's punch. He lifted a leg and kicked Broly hard in the body. Broly had completely lost his reason and gone berserk; there was no way he could dodge. He took Gogito's attack head-on, then roared,

"Ah!!!"

He swung another punch, aiming straight for Gogito's handsome face. Gogito knocked Broly's fist aside with his left hand, then gathered power in his right and punched Broly in the chest.

"Yah!!"

The punch made Broly feel excruciating pain. He opened his mouth wide and spat out a mouthful of blood. Gogito kicked him hard in the face, sending him flying. Then Gogito powered up, becoming a streak of blue light as he flew after Broly. Broly powered up too, turning into a streak of green light as he charged at Gogito.

The blue and green figures clashed again and again in the sky, like two meteors streaking across the dark night.

Gogito and Broly kept fighting, from the sky down to the ground, then deep underground. The boiling magma didn't trouble them in the slightest; instead, their impacts sent it spewing up to the surface.

In the magma, Broly took another punch from Gogito and staggered backward. He gathered energy in his hand and reached toward Gogito, but Gogito reacted in a flash, grabbing the energy and crushing it with a squeeze. As Broly stared in shock, Gogito landed an uppercut that sent him flying out of the magma.

Broly shot out of the magma and into the air. Gogito used Instant Transmission to appear right in front of his face, then pressed the energy blasts gathered in both hands against Broly's body. The energy exploded in an instant, slamming Broly into a distant mountain.

"Yaaah!!! Hah!!!"

The energy within Broly surged rapidly once more, and its green aura shattered the mountain behind him. Broly powered up again, and his hair turned from gold to grass green.

Broly raised his hand, and a grass-green energy sphere formed in an instant, growing larger before blasting toward Gogito. Gogito caught it with one hand.

"Hah!"

Gogito crushed the energy sphere with a squeeze. It broke into green fragments and slowly faded away.

But Broly had already reached Gogito. Gogito didn't have time to react before Broly punched him in the face, then followed with another punch to his stomach. The terrifying force passed straight through Gogito, and the mountain behind him collapsed.

Broly grabbed Gogito by the hair and lifted him up. He aimed his hand at Gogito's face, ready to reward him with an energy blast.

Gogito drove a knee into Broly's chest and clasped both hands around Broly's arm. Dragging Broly along, he charged toward the ground and hurled him down hard.

"Boom!!!"

A huge cloud of dust rose from the ground, hiding Broly from view.

"Yah!!! Haaah!!!"

Broly powered up again, blowing the dust away. He raised his hand and instinctively unleashed Prince Tactics: countless green energy spheres flew toward Gogito. Gogito dodged nimbly through the air as he closed in on Broly.

Gogito circled behind Broly. The instant Broly turned around, Gogito's fist was already in his face, sending him stumbling backward. Broly raised his hand and fired an energy blast. Gogito leaped lightly to dodge it, spun several times in midair, then kicked at Broly. Broly blocked with both arms, but still couldn't withstand the force. His feet carved two long furrows into the ground.

As soon as Broly lowered his arms, Gogito's energy spheres rained down from the sky, catching him off guard. Broly howled in pain and gathered energy, forming a green barrier in front of himself to barely withstand Gogito's assault.

Gogito saw that Broly was at his limit and stopped attacking. He gathered energy for a Kamehameha.

"Hah!!"

The Kamehameha hit Broly, triggering a violent explosion.

Gogito landed on the ground and waited for the smoke to clear.

When the smoke cleared, Broly had returned to normal and was unconscious.

Gogito picked Broly up and returned to the others watching the fight.

Gogito set Broly down and asked Beerus,

"Well, Lord Beerus?"

"Not bad, but he has too little combat experience and relies on brute force."

Beerus gave his assessment, and Whis felt the same way.

"Considering he hasn't fought anyone in decades, he's already impressive. Even Trunks couldn't beat Broly. With a little training, he'll become an excellent warrior."

Gogito added,

"But I feel like Broly's personality might not suit him for becoming a God of Destruction. He's very pure-hearted and kind."

"But it still depends on what he wants."

"Hmph, I haven't even agreed to make him a God of Destruction Candidate yet."

Beerus was a little annoyed. He was the God of Destruction, after all!

"It's fine. If he can't become a God of Destruction, he can do something else. Or he can stay on Earth."

Gogito said it didn't matter. Bulma could afford to support Broly anyway, so any arrangement would be fine. He'd only wanted to see Broly's strength, so he'd be able to find the Broly from his own world when he returned. Now he'd memorized Broly's ki and could use Instant Transmission to get there, without having to rely on Whis.

"I'll think about it."

Beerus decided to give it some more thought.

Gogito went to Paragus and cast a healing spell. Paragus was restored to full health. Gogito hadn't killed him; he'd only used him to provoke Broly.

Paragus opened his eyes. I'm still alive? He looked at his hands, unable to believe it.

Gogito went over to Broly and cast a healing spell on him too, restoring him to full health.

Broly stood up and was about to attack Gogito when Gogito pointed to the side.

"Father?"

Seeing that his father was unharmed, Broly was overjoyed. Paragus was just as happy to see Broly. He'd nearly gone to see King Yemma, and the hatred in his heart had faded. All he wanted now was to live peacefully with his son.

The father and son embraced.

Paragus felt his shoulder grow wet, and his heart jolted. He'd paid Broly far too little attention all these years. He'd been so focused on revenge that he'd neglected his son's feelings. But it wasn't too late to make things right. With that thought, Paragus said to Broly,

"Broly, you've been through a lot all these years."

As soon as he said it, Paragus felt Broly hug him even tighter. He stroked Broly's head and said,

"All right, you're a grown man. Don't cry."

Seeing this, Future Trunks also missed his father, Vegeta.

"All right, all right, let's go. I'll take you away from here."

Gogito interrupted the touching father-son reunion.

Broly still didn't quite trust him, and eyed him warily.

Gogito had no choice but to explain to Broly that he'd only used Paragus because he wanted to witness Broly's strength.

Then he told Paragus about Vegeta's family line. When Paragus heard that everyone in Vegeta's family had died, he was delighted. As for Trunks, he didn't even look like Vegeta, so he didn't count.

When Broly saw that his father had forgiven Gogito, he stopped treating Gogito as an enemy.

In the end, the two of them returned to Earth with the others.
