After returning to Earth, Broly and his father finally no longer looked so haggard. A quick wash-up left them looking much more refreshed.
Gogito and the others were already eating with gusto. When Future Trunks saw the two arrive, he invited them to sit down and eat.
Broly stared at the food before him, none of which he had ever seen before, and looked a little dazed.
Paragus was already eating heartily. How long had it been? How long had it been since he'd had a proper meal? At that moment, he felt completely content.
Seeing his father already eating, Broly started too. He picked up a piece of barbecue and took a bite. It was unlike anything he'd ever tasted before—so delicious! Broly began eating mouthful after mouthful, but he ate too quickly and started choking.
Future Trunks picked up a cup, poured some water, and handed it to Broly. Broly took it and drank, feeling much better. Then he asked Future Trunks,
"What is this?"
"It's water."
Future Trunks felt sorry for Broly. He hadn't even had water to drink. He hated his grandfather, whom he had never met, even more.
Future Trunks took out a bottle of juice and handed it to Broly, saying,
"This tastes even better. Try it."
Broly took it and had a taste, then said earnestly to Future Trunks,
"Thank you, Trunks. I really like it."
When he wasn't fighting, Broly was a polite, well-behaved boy.
After the meal, everyone sat on the ground chatting. Future Trunks was curious about how Broly had gained his strength, so he asked him,
"Broly, how did you train to get so strong? And what was that transformation of yours? Was it Super Saiyan?"
Broly replied,
"I fight the monsters on the planet every day. As for the transformation, I don't know either."
Paragus explained,
"Broly is a mutant among the Saiyans.
"When Broly was little, he would sometimes go berserk. At first, I thought it was because of his tail, so I cut it off. But that didn't help. Broly still went berserk.
"Broly's power also grew every day. Before long, I was no match for him. He injured my eye back then.
"So I put a control device on Broly. When he went berserk, I'd press a button, and the device would release an electric current to stop him. That made it easier to control him.
"I'm sorry, Broly."
At that, Paragus apologized to Broly for controlling him all these years and for hurting the young playmate Broly had once had.
Broly touched the cloth at his waist and said to his father,
"It's okay, Father."
Broly had never resented his father. In his heart, his father would always be the most important person.
"All right, all right. Let's not talk about such sad things. Let's talk about something fun!"
Seeing that the mood had grown heavy, Bulma quickly changed the subject.
Tights then told Broly some amusing stories about the universe, and Broly listened intently.
The two little ones played around nearby, their laughter filling the air.
Meanwhile, Whis asked Beerus,
"Lord Beerus, have you made up your mind? Candidates as promising as this God of Destruction Candidate are hard to find!"
Beerus still hadn't made up his mind, so he didn't answer.
Gogito spoke up beside him,
"Lord Beerus, if Broly becomes a God of Destruction Candidate, you could take him to spar with the other universes. Wouldn't that make you look impressive?"
Beerus imagined the scene and pictured the other Gods of Destruction getting their comeuppance. He broke into a gleeful "Kekekeke" laugh.
Seeing Beerus laugh like that, Gogito knew the deal was done.
And so, Broly became a God of Destruction Candidate, and Paragus went with him to the World of the God of Destruction.
Some time after the Broly incident, Gogito took his wife and daughter home. Tights had finished gathering material and could start writing her novel.
After returning to his own timeline, Gogito went to Planet Vampa and brought the Broly and his father from that timeline to Earth. That way, Goku and Vegeta wouldn't pester him every day. He could have Broly deal with them instead. Broly was still fairly young and not yet that strong, but he could handle those two.
At first, when Paragus saw Vegeta, he still wanted revenge. But then Vegeta said, "King Vegeta sent someone that powerful into exile? He deserved to be killed by Frieza."
After that, Paragus gave up on revenge.
Broly and Paragus settled down on Earth.
Gogito also released Buu, whom he had brought back from the first timeline. Dr. Brief said he couldn't figure anything out about him. Buu was far too advanced; all he knew was that Buu contained two kinds of energy, one good and one evil.
The moment Buu appeared, he demanded food. If he didn't get any, he would destroy everything around him. Gogito had to teach him a lesson before he settled down. Tights, however, thought the chubby Buu was adorable. Whenever Buu misbehaved and Gogito tried to beat him, Tights would stop him.
So Buu clung to Tights. As long as he stayed by her side, Gogito wouldn't dare hit him.
Aisu liked Buu too. He was soft and squishy, and Tights and Aisu would lean against him whenever they got the chance. It was incredibly comfortable.
Buu had the temperament of a child too, and he and Aisu soon became playmates. They played together all day, sometimes getting into mischief. Once, they even hid Trunks. Vegeta was so furious that he went to beat Buu up, only to get thrashed by him. Aisu clapped and cheered from the side. In the end, Bulma had to call Tights over before Vegeta could escape his predicament.
Then Buu spat Trunks out of his mouth. It turned out Trunks had been playing hide-and-seek with Ace and Buu. Ace was it, so Trunks had hidden inside Buu, who had hidden away.
They searched for Buu for a long time without finding him. When Vegeta finally found him, he thought Buu had kidnapped Trunks, so he attacked. He hadn't expected Buu to be such a tough opponent.
Sigh, poor Vegeta!!
After that, Vegeta trained even harder, swearing he'd get even someday.
Goku also heard that Vegeta had been beaten up, and excitedly went to challenge Buu. But Buu listened to Tights and wouldn't fight without a good reason.
Seeing that Buu refused to fight, Goku tried to tempt him with cake. Buu couldn't resist and agreed. Of course, the result was predictable: Goku got a severe beating, then went to complain to Vegeta.
After that, Kongbei trained hard, and both of them broke through to Super Saiyan 3, preparing to avenge themselves on Buu. In the end, Gogito stopped them.
Gohan studied and trained at the same time. With guidance from Gogito and Master Roshi, he began training his understanding. Studying was the best training for him. He spent more and more time reading, no longer limiting himself to academic knowledge. He read every book left behind by Earth's martial arts masters. Goku thought Gohan would be wasting his time, but Gohan paid him no mind.
