Shin's Shock

"Come on, Videl!"

Videl's classmates in the stands cheered her on. Videl waved to them.

"Go, Videl!"

"Go, Videl!"

Gohan and the three little ones cheered for Videl too.

"Let the match begin!"

As the announcer's voice rang out, Videl charged at Spopovich. She leaped into the air and kicked him in the face. After landing, she drove an elbow into his stomach, then unleashed a flurry of kicks woven into her Wolf Fang Fist, leaving Spopovich completely unable to defend himself.

Videl leaped forward with another kick, sending Spopovich flying.

"Videl is attacking fiercely! Spopovich has been knocked to the ground."

"Spopovich has gotten back up. It seems his fighting spirit is exceptionally strong."

Spopovich attacked Videl, but she easily blocked him and countered, beating him until he was in agony. All he could do was roar helplessly.

Videl kicked Spopovich flying again, but he got back up once more. Videl was a little surprised. How could this guy take so much punishment?

Spopovich was like an emotionless fighting machine. He didn't seem to feel any pain at all, so Videl had no choice but to keep attacking.

Videl grabbed one of Spopovich's arms and threw him over her shoulder. He crashed heavily to the ground, but soon got back up again.

The two fought fiercely once more. Videl had knocked Spopovich down countless times, but he managed to stand back up every time.

Gohan could tell there was something wrong with this guy named Spopovich. He watched closely. The veins all over the man's body were bulging, and that symbol on his head... Hmm? It looked vaguely familiar, but Gohan just couldn't put his finger on it.

"Huh?!"

The announcer's voice interrupted Gohan's thoughts. He looked up and saw that Videl had kicked Spopovich's head clean off. The announcer and the spectators all thought Videl had killed him, so she was disqualified.

To everyone's surprise, Spopovich got back up and forcibly twisted his head back into place. What a tough guy.

The two started yet another round of fighting.

However, Videl was clearly running out of stamina and beginning to struggle. Her attacks weren't as fierce as they had been at the start, and she was gradually forced onto the defensive. Wounds appeared on her body.

The next moment, Videl took a heavy blow to the stomach. Another kick sent her sprawling to the ground, where she lay for a long time without getting up.

"Damn it! Take this!"

Videl eventually managed to stand. Energy slowly gathered in her hands, and a ki blast began to form.

"Ha!"

Videl fired the ki blast at Spopovich.

Spopovich raised his hand as well.

"Could it be...?"

Videl could hardly believe it. It had taken her a month of training with Gohan just to barely learn how to use this move. How could this guy possibly know it?

The next moment, Spopovich fired a purple ki blast from his hand. It collided with Videl's, swallowing hers in an instant before striking her.

Videl fell to the ground again. Spopovich rushed forward and kept attacking her while she was down.

Every one of Spopovich's blows landed on Videl's face. Blood ran from her nose and mouth.

"That bastard! How dare he beat up Videl!"

Ace couldn't stand watching from the stands anymore. It was one thing if he won; getting hurt was inevitable in a fight. But this was clearly just a beating.

Ace rushed onto the ring and kicked Spopovich away with all her might. He slammed hard into the wall.

Gohan had been about to step in too, but Ace got there first, so he stopped in midair. Then he suddenly spotted Yamu—the skinny one—hovering in the distance.

He was holding a long jar and said to Spopovich,

"That's the one!"

The two rushed toward Ace, intending to absorb her energy.

It all happened in the blink of an eye. Shin didn't have time to react.

Gohan saw the two charging at Ace and was about to act, but the furious Ace transformed into a Super Saiyan. In just a few moves, she subdued them and even snatched their energy-absorbing device.

The announcer was dumbfounded. A little girl had suddenly appeared, kicked Spopovich flying, and then Yamu had come out of nowhere and tried to grab her. Even more absurd, the girl had suddenly turned golden-haired, taken both men down in moments, and stolen the thing they'd been holding.

Gohan went over to Videl and took out a Senzu Bean, then fed it to her.

He'd specifically gone to Korin to get this Senzu Bean, thinking it might come in handy someday. He hadn't expected it to actually be useful.

After eating the Senzu Bean, Videl was instantly back to full strength.

Gohan walked over to Spopovich and Yamu, wanting to find out what they were after. Just then, Shin came over and said,

"There's no need to ask. I know what they were after."

Gohan looked at Shin and thought, I knew it. This guy came here because of those two.

Shin continued,

"I'd planned to use them to find the lair of the mastermind behind all this. Now I'll have to come up with another plan."

At that moment, Spopovich and Yamu's bodies suddenly swelled rapidly, then exploded.

This was one of Babidi's usual tricks. If one of his men was discovered, he would silence them.

Gohan and the others had ruined Shin's plan, so they decided to help him.

Gohan, Videl, and the three little ones asked Shin to explain the whole situation. They were shocked.

"Majin Buu?"

"That's right. Majin Buu."

Even after all this time, Shin still felt afraid whenever he remembered Majin Buu's smiling face.

Trunks and Goten bounced around, gesturing to show what their good friend Buu looked like. Ace took out her phone and showed Shin a photo of them with Buu. Shin was so scared he nearly wet himself.

"How is that possible?"

Shin was certain that Babidi had taken away the egg that sealed Buu. So how could this Buu exist?

Gohan explained what had him confused.

"Mr. Buu was brought back from another timeline by Mr. Gogito and given to Dr. Brief for research. A few years ago, Mr. Gogito let him out, saying he wanted him to be Ace's playmate."

"Mm-hmm!"

Ace nodded beside him.

Shin was beginning to question his whole existence. They'd released Buu just to give a child a playmate?

That joke wasn't funny at all.

Trunks and Goten had been pretty interested when they heard about some Majin, but after all that, it turned out to be Buu. That goofy guy didn't look like a Majin at all.

The two of them slumped like deflated dolls, unable to muster any enthusiasm.

Shin asked Gohan to take him to meet Gogito. He wanted to ask Gogito to help.

But Gohan said that if Buu was only as strong as Mr. Buu, he could take care of him himself. If it was the Buu he'd met when he was little, though, that would be an opponent he couldn't handle.

Shin was stunned yet again!

Everything that had happened today had shattered his worldview: Buu as a playmate, and seemingly anyone they ran into being able to beat him up.
