Vegeta created an Artificial Moon and tossed it into the air, then looked up at it.
"Thump~ Thump~ Thump~"
As Vegeta's heart pounded fiercely, his body rapidly expanded, transforming into a gigantic golden Great Ape.
Through the window, Goku and Gohan saw half of the Great Ape's body.
Vegeta's Great Ape form stood motionless.
Goku whispered to Gohan, afraid that Vegeta's Great Ape might hear him.
"Did it not work?"
"I don't know. I've never seen anyone transform into Super Saiyan 4. Uncle Gogito always transforms directly."
Gohan whispered back.
Suddenly, Vegeta's Great Ape stirred. Golden flames of ki surged from his body, and terrifying lightning crackled around him. Then his body began to shrink, becoming a smaller ape. The little ape let out a loud roar.
"Yaaah!!!"
Golden light radiated from his entire body, and his terrifying power shattered space. The whole Lookout trembled.
Vegeta had successfully transformed.
Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta made his entrance, wearing leather pants and a belt, with gloves on his hands.
Goku and Gohan stared in amazement. So this was how someone transformed into Super Saiyan 4? It was incredible!
Vegeta raised a hand and recalled the Artificial Moon, then said to Goku,
"Want to test out Super Saiyan 4's power, Kakarot?"
Vegeta simply wanted to beat Kakarot up.
Goku was the kind of man who accepted on the spot.
He immediately transformed into Super Saiyan 3 and charged in, punching Vegeta squarely in the face.
Vegeta stayed where he was. Although Goku's punch landed on his face, it had no effect. He stood as firm as a mountain without so much as twitching.
Goku unleashed the Wolf Fang Fist.
"Ha-da-da-da-da-da~"
His fists rained down on Vegeta, followed by a fierce kick to Vegeta's chest.
None of these attacks could budge Vegeta.
Goku quickly retreated and assumed the Kamehameha stance. He poured all his strength as a Super Saiyan 3 into the attack and blasted Vegeta.
"Boom~~"
Goku's full-power Kamehameha struck Vegeta, and the explosion raised a cloud of smoke.
But when the smoke cleared, Vegeta stood there unharmed.
"Now it's my turn, isn't it, Kakarot?"
Vegeta's grin spread wider. He vanished from where he stood and appeared right in front of Goku.
Goku's eyes widened.
"What?!"
Vegeta unleashed the Wolf Fang Fist too. But his fists no longer fell like raindrops—they crashed into Goku like meteors. Goku could only take the beating; he couldn't even see Vegeta's movements.
Vegeta uppercut Goku into the air, then flashed up after him. He interlocked his fingers, raised his hands high above his head, and brought them down hard on Goku.
"Thud~"
Goku slammed into the ground like a cannonball, leaving a huge crater. He reverted to his normal form.
Vegeta landed steadily beside the crater. He was feeling triumphant. Kakarot had finally fallen at his feet.
Goku got back up and said,
"That's an absurd amount of power, Vegeta!"
Gohan took out a Senzu Bean he had gotten from Korin and tossed it to Goku.
"Dad, this is a Senzu Bean I got from Korin."
Goku caught it and ate it, instantly recovering completely.
"Now it's time for Gohan and me to try transforming, Vegeta."
Vegeta raised a hand and created an Artificial Moon, tossing it into the sky. Goku looked up at it, while Gohan stepped aside and kept his head down, avoiding the sight of the Artificial Moon.
Goku successfully transformed into a Golden Great Ape, but he had clearly lost his reason.
"As expected, Kakarot's a Low-Class Warrior. He can't control himself."
Great Ape Goku opened his mouth and fired an energy beam into the distance. A huge explosion rang out, and then he turned his gaze toward the exit of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, the only building around. Just as he was about to open his mouth, Vegeta struck him on the chin with a Rising Dragon Punch, making the energy in his mouth vanish at once.
"Kakarot, since you've lost your mind, I'll just have to beat some sense into you!"
Vegeta started attacking, taunting him as he went, whether or not the Great Ape could understand.
"What's wrong, Kakarot? Is that all you've got?"
"Kakarot, you're too slow!"
"Kakarot, is that all the strength you have?"
Vegeta vented all the resentment he had bottled up over the years. Kakarot had always been one step ahead of him, and Vegeta had always been just a little short of defeating him.
As the fight went on, Great Ape Goku suddenly stirred and stopped moving.
"It's happening!"
Vegeta backed away and watched Goku transform.
The same process played out for Goku, and finally Super Saiyan 4 Goku made his entrance.
"Thanks, Vegeta."
Super Saiyan 4 Goku's first words were to thank Vegeta.
But how could the proud Vegeta admit he had been helping Goku? He stubbornly replied,
"I just wanted to find out how powerful Super Saiyan 4 is."
Goku didn't call him out. He turned and shouted to Gohan,
"Gohan, you're next."
Gohan began transforming too, but unlike Goku, he didn't lose his reason. It was probably because his level of cultivation was so high. Years of accumulated knowledge, the insights he had gained from books, and his own potential had combined to make him an unrivaled fighter.
Gohan successfully transformed into Super Saiyan 4, and the ki radiating from him was clearly stronger than Goku's and Vegeta's.
"That's amazing, Gohan! You didn't lose your mind, and your ki is even stronger than mine and Vegeta's!"
Goku was excited all over again.
The three of them decided to continue training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, consolidating their mastery of Super Saiyan 4.
Meanwhile, Gogito stepped into the space-time passage and headed for the GT Timeline.
Somewhere on Earth in the GT Timeline, Gogito and Tights emerged from the space-time passage. They looked around at their surroundings. They had no idea where they were!
Looking up, they saw a huge planet near Earth. Gogito immediately understood that they had arrived during the Baby Saga.
Suddenly, an energy blast shot out from Planet Tuffle, aimed straight at Earth beneath Gogito's feet.
Baby was using Earth to threaten Super Saiyan 4 Goku, forcing Goku to take his attack head-on.
Gogito raised a hand slightly and blocked the energy blast.
On Planet Tuffle, Goku and Baby were both surprised. Was there someone strong enough on Earth to block Baby's attack?
But Goku had no time to worry about that. He could no longer hold back his anger. He flashed in front of Baby to shield Earth, quickly gathering a 10x Kamehameha in his hands and firing it at Baby with all his might.
When the smoke cleared, Baby was unscathed.
"How is that possible?"
Super Saiyan 4 Goku couldn't believe that his strongest technique had no effect on Baby.
Baby burst into laughter.
"It's useless. I'm invincible!"
Then he assumed the stance for the Galick Gun and unleashed it at full power against Super Saiyan 4 Goku. Goku couldn't dodge in time and took the terrifying attack head-on, collapsing to the ground.
Baby was about to finish him off when his body suddenly exploded. The 10x Kamehameha had worked after all. Baby fell beside Super Saiyan 4 Goku, and they were both left badly injured.
