The Son Goku who had set everything in motion appeared before him again. He was still as powerful as ever, sending him flying halfway across the planet with a single punch. The 10x Kamehameha, Son Goku's most powerful finishing move, had been something the Doctor expected him to take head-on. Luckily, through sheer determination, he managed to absorb it. After that, Son Goku was no longer his match.
At that moment, his sister Android 18 stepped forward to shield Son Goku, willing to detonate her bomb to protect him. That annoying Doctor kept interfering, so I sent him flying with a single move.
Only then did he understand why he felt so empty. The power to protect someone was truly something to envy. But it was too late to undo anything. The little bald guy had already been killed by him, and the Earth had been devastated.
In the end, he wanted to put an end to his miserable life. He pretended to absorb his sister's insignificant power, leaving an opening so that Son Goku could finish him off. That was the last way he could protect the only family he had.
Son Goku was both the beginning and the end.
If he had another life, he wanted to discover the charm of the everyday world.
That was the end of GT's Super 17. A lot of people criticized Super 17 as a villain, saying his setup was too abrupt and his character underdeveloped, with no emotional depth.
It would have been perfect if they had shown how 17's mindset changed from the Z era to the GT era, along with some memories of Android 16 and of the time he spent with his sister.
In short, GT's villains were all designed perfectly, but 64 episodes were too few. The characters weren't developed enough, which made things feel abrupt. The other characters also got very little screen time and were mostly just there in the background. The story relied entirely on Goku.
When they fought the Shadow Dragons, the others could have taken on the weaker ones, while Goku and Vegeta dealt with Syn Shenron and Nuova Shenron. That would have made a lot more sense than having Goku do everything by himself and then using him as a charging battery at the end.
Back in the present.
Gogito was planning to go find Tights. She was sure to be interested in taking a trip. At least, in Gogito's eyes, it would be a trip.
As for Goku and Vegeta's Super Saiyan 4 transformations, there was no need to worry with Vegeta around. Once Vegeta transformed, he would be able to handle Goku if he lost control. It would be fine.
This time, Gogito planned to go with Tights alone. Ever since Ace came along, they hadn't had much time to themselves. They could treat this as a honeymoon.
Meanwhile, Goku and Vegeta...
The two of them spent half a day gathering the Dragon Balls, then summoned Shenron.
"Shenron, can you make tails grow back for Vegeta and me?"
Goku shouted at Shenron.
"That wish is possible. Are you certain you wish to make it?"
Shenron's deep voice rang out.
"Wait, I'll go ask Gohan if he wants his tail back too."
Goku used Instant Transmission to appear beside Gohan.
At that moment, Gohan was telling Videl about things that had happened in the past: Master Roshi, King Piccolo, Korin Tower, Kami, and that year's World Martial Arts Tournament.
Seeing Goku appear, he asked in confusion,
"Dad, what is it?"
At this point in time, shouldn't his dad have been training with Uncle Vegeta?
Goku explained Super Saiyan 4 and asked Gohan if he wanted a tail again too.
Gohan thought it over. Having another source of power sounded good, so he decided he wanted his tail back as well.
Goku hurried back. He couldn't keep Shenron waiting too long.
Back with Vegeta, Goku made a wish to Shenron: he wanted tails to grow back for himself, Vegeta, and Gohan.

Shenron's eyes glowed as he granted Goku's wish.
Tails grew behind Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan.
Over by Gohan, Videl asked curiously,
"Gohan, what kind of people are your family? Why do you have tails?"
"My dad is a Saiyan. He came from another planet. Saiyans are born with tails. I had one when I was little too, but it was cut off, and it never grew back."
Gohan...
"Your dad is an alien, Gohan?!"
Videl was shocked to learn that Gohan's dad was an alien. Did that mean Gohan was one too?!
Gohan hurriedly explained,
"Saiyans and Earthlings are actually pretty much the same. Saiyans are just born stronger. Half the reason I'm so strong is my Saiyan blood."
"My mom is a proper Earthling, so you don't need to worry about whether we can get married."
Videl asked again,
"What exactly is Super Saiyan 4?"
"Super Saiyan 4 is a transformation that makes you much stronger."
"Like this!"
Gohan stood up and transformed into a Super Saiyan. Videl was stunned.
She had never seen Gohan like this before: golden hair, green eyes, and a cold look in his gaze.
But Gohan relaxed his brow, returned to normal, and was his usual innocent self again.
"That's the Super Saiyan transformation. Super Saiyan 4 is an even more advanced transformation that makes you much stronger."
Gohan even gestured with his hands, describing what Super Saiyan 4 looked like.
Gohan already looked handsome as a Super Saiyan. After hearing him say that Super Saiyan 4 was even cooler, Videl was looking forward to seeing him transform.
So Videl said,
"Then hurry up and train! You have to show me when you turn into a Super Saiyan 4!"
Then Videl went outside, got into her plane, and flew home.
Just then, Goku arrived with Vegeta using Instant Transmission. He appeared in front of Gohan and said,
"Come on, Gohan. Let's train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber at Kami's Lookout. Then we won't have to worry about destroying the Earth when we transform into Great Apes."
Goku grabbed Gohan by the shoulder and used Instant Transmission to reach Kami's Lookout. Piccolo was meditating. Sensing the arrival of Goku and the others, he stopped training and opened his eyes. He immediately spotted the tails behind the three of them and understood what they were planning.
"You want to train and transform into Super Saiyan 4, right?"
"That's right. And I have to thank you, Piccolo, for telling me about Gogito training to become a Super Saiyan 4."
Goku walked up, patted Piccolo on the shoulder, and grinned broadly.
"Then hurry up and get to it!"
Piccolo wanted to see how the three of them compared to Gogito's Super Saiyan 4.
The three of them quickly reached the bottom of the Lookout and entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Goku sighed,
"I came in here once when I was little. I only stayed for a month, and I almost went crazy."
Gohan added,
"When I was little, I trained here for a long time with Uncle Gogito, Dad from another timeline, and Uncle Vegeta."
Vegeta was the only one who had never been there.
Vegeta stepped outside, then turned back to Goku and Gohan.
"Let me transform first. If you two lose control, I won't be able to handle you. And it'll be a problem if the entrance gets destroyed."
With that, Vegeta flew a little farther away and began trying to transform.
Goku and Gohan stayed inside, avoiding the Artificial Moon Vegeta had created.
