New Mission

Bulma picked up her phone and called Chi-Chi, telling her that Gohan was at her house and asking her to come over right away.

"I found Gohan at Piccolo's and brought him back with me. He has tremendous potential, and I want to train him."

Gogito explained what he had in mind.

"But Chi-Chi won't agree."

Bulma knew Chi-Chi well. She knew she wouldn't agree, since she wanted Gohan to become a great scholar.

"Don't worry. I have a way."

Gogito looked confident. He had a way to get Chi-Chi to agree.

The system had issued another mission.

Mission: Train Gohan and make him a capable warrior. Reward: Mystic Form Failure: Lose all Super Saiyan transformations

The mission seemed somewhat difficult. After all, getting past Chi-Chi would be hard, and Gohan's dream was to become a great scholar.

But why was Gogito so confident?

Because the system had unlocked another feature: time travel, and he could bring other people with him.

If he took Gohan and Chi-Chi to the Future Timeline or the Cell Timeline, he believed Chi-Chi wouldn't just stop trying to hold Gohan back—she'd supervise his training. In the Future Timeline, the Androids had nearly wiped out humanity. It was practically Hell.

Gohan was still very young, and the outside world had a huge influence on him. In the original story, Chi-Chi had raised him by herself, and he had little contact with anyone outside the family. He even studied at home, without a single friend his own age. Someone like that would easily become a troubled child in modern society. But Gohan hadn't. What did that show? That Chi-Chi was a good parent, and that Gohan himself was exceptional.

If Gohan kept training, those enemies in the future would be in for a miserable time.

"Ma'am, dinner is ready," a maid announced.

"Then let's eat first. Gohan's been surviving out in the wilderness for so long. He must not have had a proper meal in ages," Gogito said to him.

Gohan was still a little dazed. One moment, and he'd ended up at Aunt Bulma's house.

But the allure of the food kept him from dwelling on it. All he wanted was to enjoy a big meal.

At the table, Gohan and Gogito dug in, leaving everyone else stunned. Only Tights remained unfazed. She'd been around Gogito long enough to be immune to it.

After eating their fill, Gogito and Gohan flopped onto the sofa.

"Ugh, I'm so full!"

They said it at the same time.

Then Gogito spoke again.

"Gohan."

"Hmm?"

"Have you ever thought about training seriously?"

"My dream is to become a great scholar."

"You don't have to give up studying to train, or give up training to become a scholar. The two don't conflict."

"Studying martial arts also means cultivating your mind. Learning is part of that."

It was all too complicated for Kid Gohan to understand just yet.

Gogito could see how confused Gohan was, so he continued.

"You're still young. After you've experienced a few things, you'll figure it out."

Gohan nodded, not quite understanding.

Just then, Chi-Chi arrived at Bulma's house. The moment she walked in and saw Gohan lying on the sofa, she ran to him in a frenzy, scooped him up, and looked him over from every angle.

"My Gohan!!! You're not hurt, are you? Goku is dead. You can't get hurt too!"

Chi-Chi clutched Gohan and burst into tears.

The Ox-King comforted her from behind.

"Come on, come on. Gohan's fine, isn't he?"

"It's all that Piccolo's fault. He took Gohan away for so long. If Gogito hadn't brought him back, who knows when I would've seen him again. I won't let anyone take Gohan away again, no matter what."

Chi-Chi's eyes blazed as she spoke angrily.

But Gogito said, "I brought Gohan back because I want to train him too. He has tremendous potential, and I believe he can become a great warrior."

"What?! No! I won't let Gohan do anything that dangerous. He's meant to become a great scholar. Goku can handle dangerous things like fighting!"

When Chi-Chi heard that Gogito wanted to train Gohan too, she cried out in alarm.

Gogito said helplessly, "Chi-Chi, you have to understand: the enemies we face from now on will only get stronger. Even Goku has fallen in battle. Do you want to see Gohan die right in front of you someday? The only way to prevent another tragedy is to make him stronger than anyone else."

Chi-Chi couldn't take in another word. She only wanted to take Gohan home. She picked him up and turned to leave.

Gogito knew he wouldn't be able to convince Chi-Chi in a moment, so he didn't stop her from leaving.

He would let Chi-Chi cool down for a few days. For now, he planned to go to the Lookout and give Krillin and the others some guidance.

Early the next morning, after breakfast, Gogito arrived at the Lookout.

"Hey, you're all here."

Gogito greeted Krillin and the others, and Krillin returned the greeting.

"Morning, Gogito."

Piccolo scowled without saying a word. Apparently, he still resented Gogito for taking Gohan away.

"So, are you ready to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?" Gogito asked.

"Piccolo's going in alone first, then Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu, and after that, Yamcha and I will go in," Krillin answered.

"Piccolo's going in alone? Then I'll go in with you." Gogito flashed over and patted Piccolo on the shoulder.

"Huh? So fast!" Piccolo was startled.

"Suit yourself," Piccolo said with a cold snort.

"Then let's go."

"Mr. Popo, could you take us there?" Gogito asked.

The group followed Mr. Popo to the entrance of a room. He pointed to the door and said,

"The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is behind this door."

Gogito and Piccolo went inside. Once the door closed, Piccolo realized he could no longer sense Krillin and the others.

The two walked outside. As far as the eye could see, everything was white, with no end in sight. Gogito walked over to where gravity was four times normal and tried to feel the difference, but he couldn't feel a thing.

Piccolo followed him outside. Suddenly, he stumbled and fell flat on his face.

"Gravity here is four times stronger than outside, and the air is only a quarter as dense. It's an ideal place for you to train," Gogito explained.

Krillin and the others waited outside.

"How long do you think Piccolo and Gogito can last in there?" Yamcha suddenly asked.

"Mr. Popo said Goku only stayed for a month when he was a kid. Piccolo can definitely last longer. I'd guess three months."

Tien Shinhan continued, "I can't get a read on Gogito, but from what I can sense, he's unfathomable."

"That's right. Gogito feels like a bottomless pit to me. The more I sense him, the more terrifying he seems," Krillin added.

Then Yamcha said, "Gogito's so strong. When the Saiyans arrive, can't we just rely on him?"

"We've only just met him, and we'd already be asking him for help. If we could simply rely on Gogito, why would he tell us to train hard? Besides, he might leave after a while. We still have to protect Earth ourselves," Krillin explained to Yamcha.

Tien Shinhan, however, said, "It's better to rely on yourself than someone else. If you have to depend on others every time a crisis comes along, what's the point of all that power? You might as well go home and wait around to die."

Yamcha had no answer. He could only scratch his head and smile awkwardly.
