Kasso and Ausbie were just about to head out when they suddenly heard people talking in the street.
"Have you heard about Broly?"
"That little guy who was born with a power level of ten thousand?"
"Yeah, but it's such a shame!"
The Saiyans sounded regretful. They went on to say that if King Vegeta could tolerate Broly, then in less than ten years, the Saiyans would have an invincible God of War among their ranks.
"Broly!" Kasso murmured.
Kasso's eyes widened. He'd nearly forgotten about Broly.
Broly had the body of a Legendary Super Saiyan. His incubation pod had been placed next to Kakarot's, and whenever Kakarot cried, Broly would cry along with him.
As a result, Broly grew up hating Kakarot. Every time he saw Kakarot, Broly couldn't help going berserk.
But Broly was a pitiful person, too. King Vegeta had exiled him when he was little, and even after he grew up, his own father kept him under control, leaving him without the slightest freedom.
Kasso grabbed the Saiyan's hand and asked anxiously, "Uncle, what's happening to Broly now?"
Ausbie stood quietly to the side, a little puzzled. Why had hearing Broly's name made her Kasso so agitated?
The Saiyan paused. He'd never met such a polite little kid before, and couldn't help answering, "That little guy's already been exiled!"
"What's wrong? Do you know him?" the Saiyan asked.
"No! Goodbye, Uncle. We're going now!"
Kasso led Ausbie away.
Watching the two little kids leave, the Saiyans resumed their conversation.
"Chris, do you know that little guy?"
"Of course not. I've just never met such a polite kid before!"
"That is a little strange!"
Kasso and Ausbie were on their way to Bardock's house.
Ausbie looked up and asked, "Kasso, who's Broly?"
"Uh, you'll find out someday."
Kasso shook his head. When he'd heard about Broly, he'd thought of going to save him.
Since Broly had already been exiled, he'd let Broly stay on Planet Vampa for a while first.
Kasso had more important things to do and couldn't spare the time right now.
Just thinking about that old man Paragus made Kasso feel sick.
To take revenge on King Vegeta, Paragus had gone so far as to control his own son, treating Broly as if he weren't even human!
As they walked, they soon reached Bardock's house.
But just as Kasso was about to knock, he heard people talking inside.
"Garis, that's my explanation!"
"Sigh, what am I supposed to say about this kid?"
"Maybe that's just how Saiyans are!"
Bardock and Garis's voices came from inside.
Kasso smiled. So Garis was there, too.
He knocked on the door, and the two tightly shut doors swung open. Gine was the one who answered, but she looked a little down, as if something upsetting had happened.
Kasso thought it over. Broly had been exiled today, so had Kakarot been sent away, too?
Maybe that was why Gine looked so sad.
"Kasso, Little Biel, you're back!" Gine's expression warmed a little when she saw them.
"Mm!" Kasso smiled and nodded.
"Aunt Gine!"
Ausbie happily hugged Gine.
Gine had always looked after Ausbie and Kasso. In Ausbie's heart, Gine was like her own mother.
She nestled against Gine, feeling the faint warmth of her embrace.
"Little Biel!" Gine hugged Ausbie, too.
Kakarot had just been sent away, and Gine was at her saddest. Now that Ausbie and the others had returned, it eased some of her grief.
Garis had just been talking about Kasso, and now he was standing right in front of him. Garis couldn't help exclaiming excitedly, "Kasso, Little Biel, you're back!"
Kasso's parents had once saved Garis's life, so Garis had treated Kasso like his own child ever since. Now that he saw the boy again, he was overjoyed. It was enough that Kasso had made it back safely.
Bardock came over and ruffled Kasso's hair, too. Two years had passed, and the little guy had finally put on some weight!
Kasso kept in his heart how kind all the adults in the house had been to him. Without them, he would've lost count of how many times he'd have died.
After returning to Planet Vegeta, Kasso had heard from everyone that Frieza would arrive in a little over ten days. Time was running short, and Kasso knew this wasn't the time to catch up.
Kasso said, "Uncle Bardock, have you had any bad premonitions lately?"
Bardock furrowed his brow. "How did you know?"
"I dreamed of a scene where Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta when he arrived, and all of us Saiyans died!" Kasso didn't answer Bardock's question, but made up that story instead.
"What?" Gine had no time to grieve anymore.
Hearing Kasso's words, Garis's breathing grew tense.
Kasso's words struck Bardock hard. He'd had the same dream before, but had thought it was just a dream. From the sound of it, it was real!
Frieza was up to no good!
"I had the same dream."
Bardock told everyone about the dream he'd had before. He also explained that he'd sent Kakarot away because he'd considered the possibility of the dream coming true, but didn't mention Kakarot's transformation into a Super Saiyan afterward.
Gine's eyes widened. Bardock and Kasso had dreamed the same thing. She'd only agreed to send Kakarot away because Bardock had persuaded her.
Now Gine couldn't help feeling relieved. Thank goodness they'd sent Kakarot away!
"Kasso, is this true?" Garis looked as if he'd just heard something earth-shattering.
"Mm!"
At that reply, the atmosphere in the house instantly froze. Tension spread into every corner. It was so quiet they could even hear Gine breathing!
"Captain, what do we do? We Saiyans can't stand up to Frieza!" Garis said anxiously, his face creased with worry.
"Calm down. Let's hear what Kasso has to say. He chose to come back, so he must have a plan!" Bardock wasn't as anxious as Garis. After quietly thinking it over for a while, he shared his thoughts.
From the moment Kasso had described that dream, Bardock had stopped treating him like a child.
"Kasso, tell us what you're thinking."
"Over the past two years, I finished my mission on Mumu Planet early, and then..."
Kasso continued explaining what had happened afterward.
First, he'd gone to Yardrat to learn Instant Transmission, then he'd gone to Namek to summon Shenron. Bardock and the others were stunned as they listened.
So these two little kids had been through so much in just two years.
When Kasso mentioned Instant Transmission, Bardock and Garis widened their eyes. There was actually such an incredible technique in the world!
Kasso continued, "Frieza's forces must be monitoring all of Planet Vegeta now. If we try to escape by spaceship, we won't succeed."
Bardock pondered this and said, "So you're thinking of using Instant Transmission to take everyone away from Planet Vegeta?"
Before you continue
