Leaving Planet Vegeta

After walking for a while, a small house appeared ahead.

"Little Ausbie, I'm home." Kasso carried the large fish on his back, entered the house, and walked step by step toward the kitchen.

Ausbie walked out of the room, clapped her hands, and said happily, "Brother Kasso, you're back! Wow, we have fish to eat again tonight."

For the past few days, every time Kasso returned from training, he brought back some prey. He felt that Ausbie was too thin and her combat power wasn't high—much like his own before, just a little over 100.

He didn't know how she had been eating before; no wonder she was bullied by others.

However, after a few days, Ausbie had gradually put on some weight, and her complexion was no longer pale but had become rosy, all thanks to these catches.

Kasso prepared the large fish and placed it on a rack to roast.

Soon, the fish meat was roasted to a slight char.

Smelling the aroma wafting from the large fish, Ausbie's mouth was almost watering.

"Brother Kasso, I'm hungry, I want to eat!" Ausbie stood at the doorway, her two little eyebrows knitted together.

"It's ready to eat." Kasso smiled; this girl was truly a little glutton.

After dinner was finished, Ausbie hugged Kasso's arm, and they sat together on chairs.

"Brother Kasso, I'm so full!" Ausbie touched her little belly, which had grown a bit of meat.

"I'll keep catching big fish for you to eat from now on, okay?"

"Mm!" Ausbie smiled sweetly.

Kasso patted her head. From his merged memories, he knew that little Ausbie was often bullied by Nappa and his gang, sometimes even beaten until she was covered in bruises, always crying as she looked for her Brother Kasso.

His predecessor, in an attempt to avenge her, had also been beaten miserably.

No wonder this girl was so attached to him.

Thinking of this, Kasso couldn't help but feel a pang in his heart. The little girl was clearly so cute; how could Nappa have the heart to bully her!

However, having killed Nappa today, Kasso felt a bit more at ease. He would definitely never let this girl be bullied again!

Thinking it over, leaving Planet Vegeta was the only best choice.

But how could he leave Planet Vegeta?

"Right, I can look for Bardock." Kasso suddenly thought of Bardock, the captain of his predecessor's parents.

"Little Ausbie, I'm going to Uncle Bardock's house."

Kasso set Ausbie down beside him, stood up, and walked out the door.

"Brother Kasso, come back early!" Ausbie said obediently.

"Mm!"

The night on Planet Vegeta was extremely beautiful. With no cloud cover, one could see the starlight from the depths of the universe at a glance, colorful and brilliant.

The moonlight was very bright tonight, and the road was clearly visible under its illumination. Fortunately, it wasn't a full moon, or Kasso wouldn't have dared to go out.

Saiyans with tails, under a full moon, would absorb Blutz Waves and rapidly transform into a giant ape, their power increasing to 10 times their original level.

But one cannot have both the bear's paw and the fish; ordinary Saiyans would lose their reason upon transforming into a giant ape, knowing only destruction until the moon disappeared, or unless the Saiyan's tail was cut off to return to their original form.

Only the Saiyan royal family and some special Saiyans could maintain their reason in the ape state; Vegeta was one of those who could.

Arriving at Bardock's house, Kasso knocked on the door.

"Uncle Bardock, please open the door, it's me."

The door was soon opened from the inside by a female Saiyan, Bardock's wife, Gine.

"Kasso, it's you. Is there something you need from Bardock?"

Kasso went straight to the point and stated his intention: he wanted Bardock to arrange for him and Ausbie to go out on a mission.

Upon learning his intention, Bardock thought for a moment and then asked a question.

"I promised your parents that I would take good care of you two. Do you really want to go on a mission?"

"Yes," Kasso said.

Bardock thought about it and nodded in agreement.

Bardock knew that flowers in a greenhouse were hard to bloom; only by leaving the eagle's embrace could one soar through the vast sky.

He had once gone through the same thing. As a low-level warrior, his talent wasn't as strong as Kasso's—an elite warrior—but he had been sent out on missions early, experienced all kinds of hardships, and only then attained his current strength.

So, letting go early is for the best!

"Thank you, Uncle Bardock. I will definitely work hard to become stronger."

Kasso breathed a sigh of relief, having feared that Bardock would press him for more details.

Suddenly, just as Kasso was leaving, Bardock asked, "Kasso, have you seen that brat Nappa?"

As the voice reached his ears, Kasso's heart gave a violent jolt. Had he been discovered?

Kasso's mind raced with possibilities, but he answered that he hadn't.

Bardock told Kasso about Nappa, who had been missing for a day and might have met with an accident. He had always been aware of the bad blood between Kasso and Nappa, but he felt it wasn't his place to interfere in the squabbles of two children. In the end, Bardock advised Kasso not to go out for a while to avoid getting dragged into the mess.

From his memories, Kasso realized that Bardock was truly kind to him and Ausbie!

With his worries put to rest, Kasso exhaled, though he knew he had to leave Planet Vegeta as soon as possible. If it were discovered that he had killed Nappa, even Bardock might not be able to protect him.

A few days passed.

Two small spaceships sat in the center of the plaza, with two small figures standing beside them.

"Brother Kasso, are we really going to carry out a mission? I'm scared!" the little girl said, trembling with fear.

Previously, under Bardock's care, Ausbie had at most been bullied by Nappa. As a high-class Saiyan, she hadn't been required to go out on destruction missions, but she had occasionally overheard the clansmen talking about those who had gone out on missions and never returned.

Thinking of this, Ausbie became even more terrified!

"Little Ausbie, don't be afraid. Brother will protect you."

Kasso couldn't bear to leave Ausbie alone on Planet Vegeta. Without his protection, she might easily get caught up in the investigation of Nappa's death, and he couldn't leave with peace of mind if that were the case.

She was the person he was closest to in this Dragon Ball world!

Kasso patted little Ausbie's head, telling her there was nothing to fear.

Furthermore, Planet Vegeta would be destroyed by Frieza before long, so Kasso planned to finish his mission and not return to the planet.

He intended to head to Namek to search for the legendary Dragon Balls, then travel to Yardrat to learn the ultimate survival technique: Instant Transmission.

Ausbie climbed into her ship, and Kasso set the flight coordinates for her.

Standing outside her ship, Kasso looked through the transparent window and gave her a firm, reassuring look before returning to his own vessel.

Whoosh...

The two ships spewed long trails of fire, the heat waves rolling outward. Propelled by the high-temperature exhaust, both ships shot upward, piercing the sky and heading out into the cosmos.
