Learning Secret Arts

After finishing off Angila, Gaino successfully obtained the Spirit Devouring Technique as a system reward. Ever since acquiring the Spirit Devouring Technique, Gaino's cultivation had been twice as effective with half the effort, progressing by leaps and bounds.

Gaino trained incessantly within the Gravity Chamber. Whenever his stamina was exhausted, he would immediately utilize the Spirit Devouring Technique, continuously consuming the energy in the universe. Regardless of the type of energy, Gaino accepted it all without refusal.

"You say we will save your planet in the future?"

Gaino and Laiya exchanged glances; the Wise One hadn't missed a single detail.

"Is this also part of your prediction?" Gaino asked.

The Wise One nodded.

"Alright! We believe you. Please, lead us to your Ancestral Grounds."

The Wise One said, "Please, follow me!"

Gaino and Laiya followed the Wise One into a cave. The Wise One said, "This is our Ancestral Grounds. I hope you can find the secret arts that suit you."

Gaino and Laiya cupped their hands and said, "Many thanks, Wise One."

"Then you two get to work; I won't disturb you any further." The Wise One exited the Ancestral Grounds.

Gaino looked at the patterns carved into the walls of the cave and said, "These must be the secret arts of planet Yardrat. Laiya, let's hurry up and start training!"

"Right, let's start training immediately! I can't wait."

Gaino and Laiya began searching for the secret arts that suited them. Gaino chose three: one called the Turtle Breathing Technique, one called the Gravity Technique, and the one he had been longing for—Instant Transmission.

Once the Turtle Breathing Technique is mastered, one can survive in a vacuum. This is a life-saving skill! If one encounters a powerful enemy they cannot defeat, they can flee into the vacuum of space, where most races in the universe cannot survive. Of course, some races can, such as the Frost Demon race.

The Gravity Technique is essentially a natural Gravity Chamber. Once mastered, Gaino would no longer need a Gravity Chamber to train; he could apply gravity to himself anytime, anywhere. This Gravity Technique could also be used on others. For example, during a battle, if an enemy were to charge, he could instantly apply gravity to them, causing them to lose their balance, at which point Gaino could strike.

Gaino replied to the Wise One, "You are too kind with your praise."
