The Wise One with the goatee said, "I'm the Wise One of Planet Yardrat. I can lead you to our people's Ancestral Grounds, where you can learn our secret techniques."
Gaino said, "Wise One, we've never met before. Why are you taking us to learn your people's secret techniques without even asking why we're here? Aren't you worried we might be bad people?"
"Didn't I tell you? I can foresee certain things about the future. My visions are hazy, but what I see is sure to happen. And if you were bad people, I'd be able to tell at a glance. What I saw was that one of you two would become the future savior of our planet. But I couldn't make out which one."
"You're saying that we'll save your planet in the future?"
"That's right. It's what I foresaw."
"Aren't you afraid your prediction might be wrong?"
"The secret techniques of Planet Yardrat never fail. Have you been to Namek and met Namek's Grand Elder? And on your way here, did you encounter members of the Demon Clan and happen to wipe them out?"
Gaino and Laiya exchanged a glance. The Wise One's words had been completely accurate.
"Was that also something you foresaw?" Gaino asked.
The Wise One nodded.
"All right, we believe you. Then please take us to your Ancestral Grounds."
The Wise One said, "Please, follow me."
Gaino and Laiya followed the Wise One into a cave. He said, "These are our Ancestral Grounds. I hope you find the secret techniques that suit you."
Gaino and Laiya cupped their hands and said, "Thank you, Wise One."
"Go ahead and get started. I won't disturb you." The Wise One left the Ancestral Grounds.

Gaino and Laiya searched for secret techniques that suited them. Gaino found three: the Turtle Breathing Technique, the Gravity Technique, and the Instant Transmission he had been longing to learn.
Once mastered, the Turtle Breathing Technique let its user survive in a vacuum. It was a lifesaving technique. If Gaino ever faced an enemy too powerful for him to defeat, he could escape into a vacuum. Most races in the universe couldn't survive there. Of course, some races could, such as the Frieza Race.
The Gravity Technique was like a natural Gravity Chamber. Once he mastered it, Gaino wouldn't need the Gravity Chamber to train; he could apply gravity to himself anytime, anywhere. The Gravity Technique could also affect other people. For instance, if an enemy charged at him in battle, he could apply a burst of gravity to them and make them lose their balance, giving Gaino a chance to attack.
And so, Gaino and Laiya began training in the secret techniques.
Gaino remembered that Son Goku had spent two years learning Instant Transmission. He wondered how long it would take him to learn all three techniques.
