Greedy Beerus

Gaino thought this to himself, but things often went against his wishes. Beerus finished his snack and turned to leave, but the stall owner called out, "You haven't paid yet! How can you just finish eating and not pay?"

Beerus replied, "I never pay for my meals. Why, are you trying to demand money from me?"

"Of course, you have to pay for food. Don't even think about leaving without paying. Let me tell you, we Saiyan are the least afraid of trouble, so don't provoke us."

"Oh, so that's how it is. The Saiyan are quite impressive, then," Beerus said.

Just as the stall owner was about to retort, Gaino hurriedly stepped in front of him and said, "I will cover the meal cost for this friend who has traveled from afar."

Gaino took out the money and handed it to the stall owner.

Seeing that Gaino had paid, the stall owner said nothing more.

Gaino turned to face Beerus, bowed slightly, and said, "You must be a traveler from afar in this universe! Welcome to our Planet Vegeta."

Beerus remarked, "You're a polite little brat."

"Thank you for the compliment. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Beerus replied, "I've finished what I came to this planet to do, so I'll be leaving shortly."

Hearing that Beerus was about to leave, Gaino thought quickly and said, "It's a pity that a guest from afar is leaving so soon. You haven't even tasted the best delicacies our planet has to offer. Ah, what a shame!"

Upon hearing the word "delicacies," Beerus's interest was instantly piqued. "Where are these delicacies? Take me there at once. I want to see if they are as good as you claim."

Gaino said, "Please, follow me."

This was the first time Laiya had seen Gaino act so deferential toward a stranger. Based on her understanding of him, if it wasn't because he lacked the strength, it meant the person before them was far too powerful—so powerful that even if she and Gaino joined forces, they would be no match for him.

Gaino brought Beerus to his home and said, "My guest, to taste these delicacies, you will need to wait a moment. I will cook them for you personally right now. Would you like to watch the entire process?"

"Fine! I can wait a little longer for the sake of good food, but don't take too long."

"Understood, I'll be right back."

Gaino went to Laiya and whispered, "Do not provoke this person, do you understand? Tell Mom and Dad to be polite when they return. Remember what I said."

"As for who he is, I'll tell you once I'm done."

Laiya looked at Gaino's unprecedentedly grave expression and nodded.

Gaino activated Instant Transmission and vanished right before Beerus's eyes.

Seeing Gaino disappear, Beerus's gaze flickered slightly, but that was all. He muttered, "What an interesting brat."

Laiya approached Beerus and said, "My guest, please have some water. My brother will be back shortly."

Beerus spoke up, "I didn't expect to run into two little ones like you on Planet Vegeta. Your power is quite impressive, though it's only limited to the Saiyan of this planet."

Laiya was shocked. She hadn't expected him to gauge her and Gaino's strength with a single glance. It seemed Gaino was right; this was someone who could not be provoked.

Laiya hurriedly replied, "My strength and my brother Gaino's are not even worth mentioning in your presence."

Beerus heard this and said, "That is the truth, though the two of you should be able to withstand the power of one of my fingers."

He could defeat us with just one finger? Just how powerful is he?

Just as Laiya was about to speak, Gaino returned. He walked up to Beerus and said, "Guest, please step outside. I shall prepare the meal for you now."

Beerus followed Gaino outside to find a dinosaur that Gaino had hunted and brought back.

Gaino cleanly severed the dinosaur's tail and said to Laiya, "Laiya, set up the fire for a barbecue."

Hearing the term, Beerus asked, "Barbecue? What is a barbecue?"

Gaino replied, "It is a cooking method I invented myself. Please wait a moment, guest."

Laiya set up the fire, and Gaino sliced the dinosaur tail into thin strips, skewering them onto iron rods.

The barbecue began. Gaino rotated the skewers while sprinkling various seasonings, and soon, the aroma of roasted meat began to drift through the air.

Beerus smelled the scent, and his mouth began to water uncontrollably. He asked Gaino, "How much longer until it's ready?"

Gaino replied, "Almost there, almost there."

Once the meat was cooked, Gaino handed it to Beerus. "It's a bit hot, eat slowly."

Beerus took the skewer and bit into it, only to immediately spit it out—it was clearly too hot. He stuck out his tongue and fanned it with his hand to cool it down.

At that moment, Gaino handed Beerus a glass of cold water and said, "You have to eat it slowly. Look, let me demonstrate."

Gaino took a skewer, blew on it, and then tore off a piece of meat to eat.

Beerus followed suit. After eating the first piece, a look of satisfaction appeared on his face.

Seeing Beerus's expression, Gaino finally felt a weight lift off his chest. As long as he could keep this person satisfied and happy, that was all that mattered.

Gaino said, "Eat slowly, there is plenty more."

Before he had even finished the meat in his mouth, Beerus mumbled, "This is truly delicious. You're quite something, kid."

"I never expected that among the warlike Saiyan, there would be someone who understands how to cook such delicacies."

"You are too kind."

Before long, while Beerus was still gorging himself, a voice rang out: "Lord Beerus, you had me go find King Vegeta, yet you are here enjoying a feast all by yourself. This is not how a God of Destruction should behave."

Beerus replied to the newcomer, "It was this kid who brought me here to taste this food. This King Vegeta is truly unforgivable. They have a culinary master on their Planet Vegeta and didn't even know it—it's a crime. It caused me to go without a satisfying meal until I met him."

Gaino looked at the person approaching, only to see someone incredibly handsome with an extraordinary aura. Isn't this the God of Destruction Beerus's attendant and supervisor, the Angel Whis?

Whis looked toward Gaino and said, "Greetings, I am an Angel named Whis, and I am the attendant of the God of Destruction Beerus."

Gaino hurriedly returned the greeting, "Hello, my name is Gaino, and this is Laiya. Since such an extraordinary Angel has arrived, let us enjoy this food together!"

"Ohoho, this little one certainly knows how to talk! Then I shall not stand on ceremony."

"Come on then, Mr. Whis."

Gaino handed Whis a skewer of roasted meat, which Whis ate with great elegance, carrying the air of a true gentleman.

"Mm, this is truly delicious! Gaino, your roasting skills are simply unparalleled! Could you teach me?"

"Of course, come, I will show you."

"First like this, then like this, and finally like this."

Just like that, through the collective efforts of the four, the massive dinosaur was entirely roasted into skewers by Gaino, leaving both Beerus and Whis with slightly bulging bellies.

Beerus remarked, "What a culinary delight! It truly leaves one longing for more."
