In the nick of time, Gaino rescued Laiya, and they made their way to a planet not far from the barren world.
Gaino's Burst Bombardment destroyed the barren planet outright, reducing it to cosmic dust.
Seeing the planet turn into fireworks in the distance, Laiya, standing beside Gaino, swallowed unconsciously. A gulp rang out as she swallowed.
Gaino gave Laiya a sharp flick on the forehead and said, "You didn't even try to dodge when the attack came. Do you know how dangerous that was?"
The flick brought Laiya back to her senses. She looked at Gaino and said, "Big Brother Gaino, your attack just now was way too powerful!"
"My special move was completely outmatched by yours. It fell apart the moment it made contact."
"Don't change the subject. I'm asking why you didn't dodge when the attack came. You can use Instant Transmission, can't you? In that situation, you could have used it to get out of range of my attack."
Laiya said, "Big Brother Gaino, I was so shocked by your attack that I forgot all about that. It won't happen again."
Gaino said, "You're still talking about next time? There won't be a next time. If I hadn't reacted quickly just now, you'd have been reduced to cosmic dust just like that planet."
Seeing that Gaino was getting angry, Laiya resorted to pleading. "Big Brother Gaino, don't be mad, okay? I know I was wrong. I promise I won't make that mistake again. Oh, no, I mean there won't be a next time—I absolutely won't let it happen again. So please don't be mad, okay? Pretty please, Big Brother Gaino."
Laiya shook Gaino's arm and kept pleading until she finally won him over. After spending so many years together, she knew exactly how to get to him, so she played to his weakness. Before long, Gaino said, "All right, all right. Stop shaking me. You're going to shake my arm right off."
Seeing that Gaino was no longer angry, Laiya's face brightened with joy.
"By the way, Big Brother Gaino, your attack just now was incredible. Mine couldn't even compare to yours. Your special move completely overpowered mine. It was amazing!"
Gaino said, "Maybe I just have more ki than you. The energy ball I formed was denser than yours, so my special move was able to overwhelm yours."
"Oh, so that's how it works? Big Brother Gaino, you're really amazing."
"I don't get it. You were only powering up normally, yet your power-up was stronger than mine as a Super Saiyan. Are you just that ridiculously powerful?"
Gaino laughed it off. "Maybe I'm just incredibly talented." He couldn't very well tell her that he had the Ancient Saiyan Bloodline. Both his parents were elite Saiyans, but their bloodline was ordinary. Who would believe him if he claimed to have an ancient Saiyan bloodline?
There were exceptions, though: the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, and King Vegeta's first son, Rego. Rego had a battle power of 50,000 at birth, which had startled King Vegeta. But under Frieza's rule, a Saiyan like that could never be allowed to exist. So King Vegeta exiled his son to a remote planet, where Rego lived for decades.
What King Vegeta didn't know was that his eldest son carried the Ancient Saiyan Bloodline.
Thinking of this, Gaino turned to Laiya and said, "Laiya, do you remember which planet you took Paragus and his son to, like I asked you to last time?"
"Oh, those two? I'd forgotten about them until you brought them up. They're on a planet not far from Planet Vegeta. There are enormous animals and breathable air there. It's not as good as Planet Saiyan, but it's habitable. They can live there just fine."
"Good. Take me there now."
"What do you want to go there for? Oh, right. You said you had a good reason for saving them. You're not planning to train the father and son into elite warriors, are you?"
Gaino said, "Not both of them—just the little Saiyan, Broly. I have no interest in training his father. Broly is the one I'm interested in."
"Broly? The kid who had a base battle power of 10,000 at birth?"
"Of course. Why else would I have saved them? I don't care what happens to Paragus. It's the little guy I'm really interested in!"
"All right. If you're that interested, I'll take you there." Laiya pointed a finger to her forehead and sensed Broly's ki.
"Big Brother Gaino, give me your hand. I'll take you there now."
Gaino placed his hand on Laiya's, and in a flash, they vanished from the planet.
They arrived on a planet whose name they didn't know. Looking around, Gaino said, "This place will do. Two Saiyans can survive here without any trouble."
Gaino sensed the area and said to Laiya, "There's a ki over that way. Let's go. That should be Broly."
"Okay." Laiya nodded.
They instantly appeared at the spot where the ki had flared up. There, Gaino saw a little Saiyan fighting a dinosaur.
The Saiyan was surrounded by a ferocious aura. He paid no heed to the dinosaur's attacks and chose to take them head-on. Broly fired a green shockwave straight at the dinosaur.
The attack reached the dinosaur, which swung its massive tail and knocked it aside.
Broly charged forward and reached the dinosaur's tail. Grabbing it with both hands, he lifted the dinosaur with his immense strength and spun around with it. After countless revolutions, Broly let go. The dinosaur flew like a cannonball toward a mountain ahead.
Its enormous body smashed through several mountains. The dinosaur was left dazed and disoriented, its eyes spinning.
Seizing the opportunity, Broly rushed to the dinosaur's belly and punched straight through it. The dinosaur's eyes went blank, and soon it stopped breathing.
After killing his opponent, Broly hoisted the enormous dinosaur onto his shoulder and headed off in one direction.
Gaino turned to Laiya and said, "What do you think, Laiya? Not bad, is he?"
"He's all right. He's so young, yet he already knows to use his wits in a fight. He's pretty capable."
"That's not what I meant. Did you feel the ki he gave off while he was fighting?"
"I did. It was a fierce, violent ki. It felt like this little guy existed only to destroy."
"Exactly. If he can't control the ki inside him, he'll only grow stronger as he gets older. Then he'll become a disaster for the universe."
"So you want him to train with us, Big Brother Gaino, so he can learn to control his ki?"
"Yeah, that's exactly what I mean."
