Seeing Slug bow his head in submission, Gaino said to him, "Since you've chosen to serve me, I can't be too stingy." As he spoke, Gaino tossed Slug a Senzu Bean.
Gaino said, "This is a Senzu Bean. It'll heal your injuries quickly. Eat it!"
Slug stared at the bean in his hand for a long time without eating it. Seeing this, Gaino shot him a cold glance.
Slug felt a powerful killing intent bearing down on him. He followed its source and saw that Gaino's face had turned livid.
Slug hurriedly dropped to his knees before Gaino and stammered, "Lord Gaino, I was just being overly cautious. I'll eat the Senzu Bean right now." He tossed it into his mouth and swallowed it without even chewing.
Before long, Slug's severed arm had grown back. Seeing that it was as good as new, Slug exclaimed happily, "It really healed! He wasn't lying to me."
But Gaino's expression had turned cold. "It seems I've been far too lenient with you, Slug. If you choose to serve me, you must obey my orders without question. Even if I told you to eat poison, you'd better swallow it without so much as furrowing your brow. Your doubts just now have made me wary of you, too.
"Since that's the case, I'll show you how I made the people of Planet Saiyan willingly accept me as their king."
As he spoke, Gaino rushed up to Slug, grabbed him by the collar, and suddenly exerted his strength. Slug felt himself being torn apart by a tremendous force as Gaino slammed his head into the ground.
"Aaagh!" Slug's screams rang out from the ground.
Watching the scene, Broly said, "Sister Laiya, I thought you were already ruthless, but compared to Big Brother Gaino, you're nowhere close."
Laiya looked at Broly. "What did you just say?"
Meeting Laiya's gaze, Broly hurriedly replied, "N-nothing. I didn't say anything."
Laiya snorted and said, "Big Brother Gaino is very gentle with his own people, but he never goes easy on his enemies.
"I don't know why Big Brother Gaino wants to spare Slug, but Slug is still an outsider to him. He's only just pledged his allegiance, yet he already doubts his master. A dog like that needs to be taught a lesson."
Gaino slammed Slug's head into the ground again and again. The earth cracked beneath the impact, and green blood began to seep from Slug's head.
Gaino flung Slug into the air with one hand and unleashed a flurry of attacks.
Rat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat!
Ki Blasts rained down on Slug, and in an instant, smoke engulfed him. Gaino charged straight into the cloud and swept his hand through it, clearing it away.
Gaino battered Slug from every direction. The thuds of each blow rang out in quick succession as Slug was knocked farther and farther backward. Gaino spun through a full 360 degrees and swept his leg across Slug's face, sending him flying.
A green streak cut across the sky: Slug's body. With a heavy thud, Gaino blasted him straight into the forest.
The forest echoed with a continuous series of crashes. Slug flew backward again and again, smashing through one tree after another until, with a final bang, he crashed into the mountainside. The mountainside collapsed, revealing Slug's battered form. He was barely clinging to life.
Laiya, Broly, and Bardock flew up to Slug. Seeing his miserable state, Laiya asked Gaino, "Big Brother Gaino, is he dead?"
"Don't worry. My attacks were heavy, but I avoided his vital spots. He only has superficial wounds. He'll be fine in a few days. He won't die."
"Big Brother Gaino, are you sure he won't die? He looks like he's down to his last breath," Broly said.
"He won't die. Namekians have incredibly strong vitality. Don't underestimate him."
If the system hadn't issued a new mission while Laiya was fighting Slug, Gaino would have had her kill him outright.

Bardock gave Gaino a slight bow, then flew off in a different direction.
Bardock was thoroughly convinced now. Such a powerful enemy as Slug hadn't been able to fight back at all against their king; Gaino had beaten him to a pulp. Bardock swore to himself that one day he, too, would become as powerful as the king.
Before long, Broly returned with a large group of demons. A minute later, Bardock also came back with another large group.
Broly said, "Big Brother Gaino, this is everyone on Planet Slug's Demon Clan who was willing to submit to us. I sent the rest—the ones who refused—with a single Ki Blast."
"It was the same on my end. The ones willing to submit are the ones you see here, King. I made sure the others left this world for good."
Gaino looked at the group of demons before him and said, "From today onward, I am your master. Your king has already chosen to serve me, and that's the only reason I've let you live."
Holding Slug in one hand, Gaino smiled at him. "Am I right, King Slug?"
Looking at Gaino's smile, Slug felt that Gaino was the real demon: cold-blooded, merciless, and ruthless.
Slug quickly slipped free from Gaino's grasp and immediately knelt before him. "Yes. I have pledged myself to Lord Gaino. From now on, Lord Gaino's orders will be my only rule. If Lord Gaino tells me to go east, I absolutely won't go west. If Lord Gaino tells me to die, I won't try to save my own life."
Hearing Slug's words, Gaino thought, It looks like beating him just now had some effect. I can put him through his paces from now on.
"Good. I accept your loyalty."
The system's voice rang out. "Ding! The reward has been issued. Please claim it."
Gaino thought, Claim it.
