Korin's Training

Gaino bid farewell to Master Roshi and flew directly toward the residence of Korin. Laiya followed closely behind.

Korin was already keeping an eye on Gaino and Laiya. Seeing them flying toward him, he scratched his head with his cat paw, muttering incessantly, "Don't come here, don't come here."

Before he knew it, with a whoosh, Gaino and Laiya had already arrived before him.

Gaino greeted him first: "Greetings, Korin! I believe you know the purpose of my visit here!"

Korin leaned on his staff, puffing out his large belly, and said to Gaino: "I know why you have come. I saw it all in the Water Mirror. The training that brat Master Roshi gave you seems decent, but it still has flaws."

As expected, there is always someone better than the best. In Korin's eyes, Master Roshi's training methods were still imperfect.

"Then please, Korin, give us some guidance."

"It is not impossible to guide you, but I have conditions." Upon hearing this, Laiya became angry and said to Korin: "You little kitty, making demands of us? Isn't that going too far?"

"Isn't this more efficient?" Gaino handed the sack to Korin. Korin quickly opened it, took out a fish, and tossed it directly into his mouth. He was eating with such delight.

Indeed, cats love fish.

After finishing the fish, Korin said: "Seeing as you are so sincere, I will teach you!" He took a bell from his person, hung it on his staff, and said to Gaino: "As long as you can snatch this bell without it making a sound, you will have graduated."

Laiya said: "I thought there would be some special training. Just this? Watch me."

Korin said: "Then you go first!"

Laiya flared her energy and dashed toward Korin. Just as she was about to grab the bell, Korin tilted his body slightly, dodging Laiya's attack.

Gaino watched from the side and saw it clearly: it was the range of motion. Korin's body movement was so minimal that the bell did not ring.

Korin said: "Although your energy is vast, the moment you move, I know exactly how you are going to attack. A master can discern an opponent's attack route from their movements. Therefore, you still have a long way to go!"

Laiya said fiercely: "I don't believe it. Again!"

"Very well! Come on!" Korin said.

After trying several times, Laiya failed to touch the bell and eventually exhausted her stamina, collapsing onto the ground.

Seeing Laiya worn out, Korin said: "Do you still think this is simple?"

Laiya panted: "No, no... no, it's not simple."

Gaino stepped forward at this moment and said to Korin: "Let me try."

Korin looked at Gaino and said: "Fine, then give it a try."

Gaino closed his eyes, putting himself into a state of deep relaxation. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and instantly appeared before Korin. He reached out his fingers and snatched the bell, but the bell rang.

This maneuver startled Korin. What kind of monster was this, to be able to grab the bell on the first try? Although the bell rang and he didn't pass, it was still incredibly impressive.

Korin composed himself and said: "Although you grabbed the bell, it rang, so that does not count as passing."

"Come on, continue." Gaino tossed the bell back to Korin.

The training began once more. In fact, Laiya observed Gaino closely and discovered that he was suppressing his energy to the minimum. In contrast, she had been raising her energy to the maximum, which allowed Korin to predict her direction. So that was it.

Korin grew increasingly alarmed. This kid was getting faster each time, and his movements were becoming lighter and lighter. He thought that in a few more days, this kid would be able to snatch the bell from his hand with ease.

Seeing this, Korin said: "Alright, that is enough training for today. Let us continue tomorrow."

"Gaino, we are out of dinner. Go get us some dinner."

Hearing this, Gaino understood. So he was just hungry and wanted more fish. No wonder he stopped the training!

Gaino didn't say a word and flew directly toward the ground. Before long, he returned with another sack of fish. Korin didn't care about anything else; he dove headfirst into the fish sack and began his meal.

This routine continued for five days. In those five days, Gaino and Laiya had become able to snatch the bell from Korin's hand with great ease, without making a single sound.

Korin looked at the two of them and was speechless. Where did these monsters come from? They had learned to use their energy so freely in such a short time.

"Alright, alright, you two have graduated. I have nothing left to teach you. You may go."

Gaino said: "Korin, thank you for these past few days. This is a gift for you."

Gaino pulled out a massive sack filled entirely with fish. Korin looked at the food before him, and his appetite surged. He jumped straight into the fish sack.

He then said: "You kid are quite thoughtful. Very well, I will accept this."

Gaino said: "Korin, I noticed those little beans in your jar look quite nice. Could you give me some?"

Korin's mind was entirely on the fish. He waved his hand dismissively and said: "Sure, sure, take as many as you want. These are just little trinkets I grew; they aren't worth anything."

Not worth anything? These are life-saving Senzu Bean! You actually say they aren't worth anything? Then I shall accept them without modesty.

"Korin, then I will go and take them."

"Mm-hmm, take them! Take them all!"

Gaino didn't stand on ceremony, dumping dozens of jars of Senzu Bean into his cloth bag. Once he had finished, Gaino bid Korin farewell.

Gaino shot straight up into the sky at high speed. Indeed, Gaino's destination was Kami's Lookout. This startled Korin; he hadn't expected the brat to know about Kami's Lookout. Still, it should be fine, right? The kid was only looking to increase his own strength.

With that, he went back to munching on his sweetfish.
