Overview

Soul Rings are obtained primarily from Soul Beasts and are required for a Soul Master's advancement at key Soul Power thresholds. They can grant Soul Skills, and their age and quality affect the strength of both the ring and its wielder. Hunting suitable rings is therefore a central part of cultivation. 3 50

A Soul Beast may leave a ring after death; in unusual cases, dragon-attributed Soul Beasts submit or transform directly under the pressure of Li Fei's Azure Dragon bloodline and Martial Soul. 4 15

Acquisition and Absorption

Soul Beast Hunting

Soul Masters normally search for and kill Soul Beasts whose age and attributes suit their Martial Souls. Dragon-blooded or dragon-type Soul Beasts are particularly compatible with Li Fei's Azure Dragon Staff. 2 3 50

• Soul Rings can appear after a Soul Beast dies, such as the purple ring left by the Black Water Profound Flood Dragon. 4
• A Soul Master absorbs a ring by drawing it into their Martial Soul and refining it through cultivation. 4 15
• High-age rings are dangerous and generally exceed the tolerance of ordinary Soul Masters; Li Fei's ability to absorb them is exceptional. 12 50
• A Soul Beast's attribute is considered when selecting a ring, such as the wind-attributed Dragon Hawk chosen for Huo Wang. 154

Ring Colors and Ages

The documented ring colors include yellow, purple, black, red, and cyan-gold.

Soul Ascension Art

Li Fei develops the Soul Ascension Art, a technique that raises the age of existing Soul Rings rather than replacing them. 82

Auxiliary Absorption

Li Fei can absorb a Soul Ring into an existing ring rather than filling an empty primary slot.

• After defeating the Titan Giant Ape, he absorbs its 100,000-year ring into his first ring. 121
• This process evolves the first ring and gives it the additional skill Azure Dragon Heaven and Earth Staff. 121
• The Azure Dragon Staff previously absorbed the ring of a 500-year Black Bear, increasing Li Fei's first ring from 1,999 to 2,499 years. 5

Ring Detonation

Li Fei reverse-engineers two forms of Ring Detonation. 82

• Combat Ring Detonation — temporarily detonates and fuses a Soul Ring into the Martial Soul for greater power; the ring later recovers. 82
• Non-combat Ring Detonation — permanently removes a ring, leaving an empty slot for a newly absorbed replacement ring. 82
• Li Fei does not intend to promote non-combat detonation because high-age Soul Beasts are increasingly scarce. 82

Soul Spirits

Soul Spirits are an alternative to conventional Soul Rings, developed to reduce the killing of Soul Beasts.

• A Soul Spirit can provide Soul Rings without requiring a Soul Beast to be hunted. 159
• Its ring age grows alongside both the Soul Master and the Soul Spirit. 159
• Powerful Soul Spirits can continue supplying rings as their master's Soul Power reaches each new requirement. 193
