The Witch's red-soled black high heels dangled lightly from toes wrapped in translucent black threads, swaying like swings in the wind. Jeweled earrings fashioned from luxurious triangular sheets of pure gold lay hidden beneath her hair, swaying with her movements just like her heels. Salomon nodded, and Hammurabi tactfully left the brightly lit sitting room to prepare fuel and ammunition for tomorrow's flight, leaving the space to the Witch and her master. Dinah silently offered a half-full glass, allowing her master to take a sip of chilled liquor to refresh himself. Though it was unnecessary, Salomon accepted the maid's kindness.
"I saw the news. This isn't your style."
The Witch held a wineglass, her pale gray eyes gleaming beneath her glasses in the light. She appeared to have already drunk quite a lot.
Due to upbringing and habit, most of the cellar was filled with expensive wines. Even though neither he nor the Witch was a professional taster or wine connoisseur, they still treated it as a substitute for drinking water. In the foreseeable future, the child he and the Witch adopted would be the same, though he would remind Milia to drink less when the time came. After all, she did not possess a liver powerful enough to leap out and beat someone up like his and the Witch's.
"Milia was still asking where you went before she fell asleep today." Bayonetta raised an eyebrow and offered her partner her own half-full glass after he took a large drink of liquor. "I even gave her a glass of wine to reward her diligent training today. Do you want to see her training records?"
"I'm sorry. I'll go see her in a while. As for the training records—there's no need. I trust the Witch's training methods. I only hope
