Background / History

Tang San possesses Innate Full Soul Power and initially studies at Nuoding Academy under Yu Xiaogang, whom he reveres as his teacher. After Yu Xiaogang claims that Chu Qing insulted him, Tang San resolves to gain a spirit ring and defeat Chu Qing in retaliation. He absorbs the soul ring of a nearly 400-year-old Datura Snake and obtains a binding skill for his Blue Silver Grass. 3 6

His first direct confrontation with Chu Qing ends in a crushing loss. Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass is consumed by Nihility Devouring Flame, his Mysterious Jade Hand fails to overcome Chu Qing, and his Sleeve Arrow is refined away. Chu Qing leaves him severely burned but alive, deliberately avoiding a lethal strike because Tang Hao is watching from the shadows. 7

After leaving Nuoding, Tang San meets Chu Qing again in Suotuo City alongside Yu Xiaogang. He launches an ambush with poisoned Blue Silver Grass and hidden weapons, but Chu Qing devours the attacks into a spatial rift and redirects them back at both master and disciple. Tang San then exposes his Clear Sky Hammer, but is defeated again. His resentment toward Chu Qing intensifies into a private vow of revenge. 22 23

Three years later, Tang San enters Shrek Academy hoping its training will finally let him surpass Chu Qing, only to discover that Chu Qing is already a senior student. He attempts another concealed attack, but Chu Qing detects it immediately, making Tang San recognize the continuing gap between them. 24

Tang San eventually reaches level 30 through relentless cultivation and joins Shrek’s third spirit-ring expedition. His fixation on Chu Qing and his growing suspicion over Xiao Wu’s changed behavior strain his relationship with her. 27 28
