Rasa let out a quiet sigh, stretched out one hand, and murmured, "Electrotherapy: Electric Shock Wave."

When in doubt, use electrotherapy!

Before the Iwagakure Ninjas could react, currents generated by high voltage flashed from Rasa's hand and struck several of them in the blink of an eye.

The ninjas hit by the high-voltage shock suffered instant muscle contractions and convulsions, followed by ventricular fibrillation. Metal ions in their organs and bodily fluids conducted the current throughout their bodies.

Their hair stood on end. The heat instantly charred their skin, their hearts stopped beating, and most of their cells were destroyed. They were as dead as dead could be.

They felt no pain. All the damage was done in an instant. This was the true destructive power of high-voltage current against living things, far beyond what a knockoff Lightning Release made of chakra could manage.

"Now, if you want to leave, you won't get the chance." Rasa tilted his head as the wind whipped his white coat.

Silence fell.

Higashi Shito was utterly shocked. He had sensed only a faint ripple of chakra, then a flash of electricity—and three of his subordinates were dead.

The study of ninjutsu without Hand Seals had long been a priority for every major village. Yet after countless experiments, everyone had reached the same conclusion.

Hand Seals were a ritual for connecting chakra and constructing the framework of a technique. Without them, a technique's power would be reduced to almost nothing.

Unless one had a vast amount of chakra and could brute-force a technique's power by increasing the output, ninjutsu without Hand Seals was simply too weak to be worth considering.

What had he just seen?

Rasa had only raised his hand and caused the chakra to ripple slightly, yet several bolts of electricity appeared. They didn't look like much, but their power was at least equal to an ordinary B-rank technique.

When had a Kage Level powerhouse like this appeared in the Shinobi World?

Higashi Shito felt immense pressure. When Kage Level powerhouses fought one another, one could always determine who was stronger and who would win.

But that wasn't what defined someone as Kage Level. If they could mow down ordinary ninjas with ease, that alone was enough to earn them the title.

"You have other comrades, don't you? Dozens of you trespassed on my territory at once.

"Once I've dealt with you, I'll go send them off too. Don't worry. You won't be lonely on the road to the afterlife."

As if deliberately trying to provoke the Iwagakure Ninjas, Rasa unleashed his full presence.

Higashi Shito clenched his teeth and made a decision. Ready to face death, he shouted in a low voice, "Ryotaro,

"go find Captain Mahiru and Captain Gari. Maybe only the two of them together can stand against this man.

"At the very least, make sure they withdraw from this area immediately!"

"But—" The young ninja, Ryotaro, was stunned. He hadn't expected the captain who'd just been reprimanding him to be willing to stay behind now.

They couldn't defeat this man. It was absolutely impossible.

"No buts. I'm a Jonin. Maybe I can hold him off for a few dozen seconds. If it were you, you might not even last one!"

Higashi Shito was full of resolve. He had already put his own life and death aside.

"You're discussing who'll hold me off right in front of me. Have you considered how that makes me feel?"

Rasa adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and pointed at Ryotaro. A high-voltage current shot out.

"Go!"

The instant Rasa raised his hand, Higashi Shito bellowed and rapidly formed Hand Seals, then slammed his palms against the ground.

"Earth Style: Earth Wall."

Rumble! A stone wall without a carved dog's head burst out of the ground and rose in front of Ryotaro. The high-voltage current struck it, raising a wisp of smoke.

Rasa narrowed his eyes. He'd discovered another weakness in his ability. High-voltage current was far more destructive to water-rich living things than a knockoff Lightning Release.

But against mixtures and inorganic substances like earth and rock, it was nowhere near as effective as a knockoff Lightning Release.

He'd have to level up and turn the current into a Railgun or a laser cannon.

Ultimately, his ability was grounded in physics, while the Shinobi World's Lightning Release was pure fantasy. They called it Lightning Release, but it could produce all sorts of explosions and other random effects.

Ryotaro gritted his teeth, glanced at Higashi Shito, and shouted, "For Iwagakure!"

Then he ran off. There was none of that tearful farewell one saw in TV dramas. That was the decisiveness of a ninja.

"Everyone, attack together! Buy Ryotaro some time!"

At Higashi Shito's command, he and his two remaining subordinates leaped at Rasa. He had noticed a detail: both times Rasa had released electricity, he'd made a movement like raising his hand.

"Earth Release: Rock Fist Technique!"

A Chunin formed Hand Seals, and chakra surged out, turning into a layer of rock that covered his arm and torso, as well as every part of his body except his face and joints.

Normally, Rock Fist only formed a stone fist around the arm. But this was the flexible application of a technique. Only inexperienced Genin failed to adapt.

"Lightning Release counters Earth Style.

"But I've realized that your Lightning Release is different from ordinary Lightning Release. It barely counters Earth Style at all. That's your weakness.

"Don't underestimate the ninjas of Iwagakure! Die, brat!"

The Chunin shouted and swung his Rock Fist at Rasa.

Lightning Release countering Earth Style was Kishimoto's rule. Rasa could barely contain his urge to complain. Sure, soil contained a lot of organic matter and could conduct a little electricity.

But the Earth Style techniques you use are made of rock. Rock is primarily silicon dioxide. Unless you heat it to a plasma state, it won't conduct electricity.

When you're in someone else's world, you have to follow their rules. Accept your fate.

Rasa raised his head slightly and smiled. "My Lightning Release is indeed a little unusual.

"But have you ever heard of the legendary Nintaijutsu?"

The Chunin's expression stiffened. Wasn't Nintaijutsu the unique Lightning Release style passed down through Kumogakure?

Electromagnetic Force, activate!

High-voltage current and magnetic force wrapped around Rasa's entire arm, stimulating and strengthening his muscle tissue. He threw a punch.

"Electrotherapy: Lightning Fist!"

The tremendous force shattered the rock covering the Chunin's abdomen. High-voltage current coursed through his body, and then Rasa's fist punched straight through him, turning all his internal organs into charred lumps.

"I'm no expert, but as it happens, I can use this technique too!"

Rasa calmly pulled his fist free. The next moment, he felt his legs being restrained.

A pair of hands emerged from beneath the earth, grabbed Rasa's ankles, and tried to drag him down.

Double Suicide Decapitation Technique. Quite a fancy name. Uchiha Sasuke had once been planted in the ground like a radish by Kakashi using this move.

"Electrotherapy: Discharge."

Rasa snorted. A layer of high-voltage current appeared across his skin and surged down the underground ninja's arms, killing him outright and leaving him buried beneath the ground forever.

Higashi Shito was horrified. So raising his hand and the like wasn't a necessary precursor for this man to use Lightning Release.
