Background / History

Shrek Academy was regarded as the continent’s premier soul master academy and the defending champion of the Continental Elite Soul Master Tournament. Its dean was stated to stand on equal footing with imperial rulers, while its highest-ranking figures included numerous Title Douluo and Super Douluo. 44 80

Huo Yuhao entered the academy through the recruitment position arranged by Tang Ya and Beibei. His early experience exposed a harsh admission culture: freshmen had to pass a team-based assessment to remain enrolled, while failure meant expulsion. 8 38

The academy’s handling of Huo Yuhao’s own expulsion caused an internal conflict. Zhou Yi expelled him without proper cause, leading Mu En to confront Dean Yan Shaozhe and demand accountability. 31

Mu En recognized Huo Yuhao’s exceptional potential after seeing his domain and Ultimate martial soul, treating him as a figure capable of bringing Shrek to a new height. Huo Yuhao later became an Inner Court seed, above ordinary core disciples. 13 46 56

Shrek sent a reserve-heavy team to the Continental Elite Soul Master Tournament after most of its main team was injured. Opposing academies repeatedly forfeited or conceded after witnessing Huo Yuhao’s strength, allowing Shrek to dominate early rounds despite its depleted lineup. 80 81 83 93

The academy suffered catastrophic damage when He Caitou infiltrated the grounds and detonated sixteen Level 9 Fixed Soul Guidance Cannon shells in coordination with the Holy Spirit Cult. The blast destroyed much of the campus, inflicted heavy casualties, and enabled eleven Evil Soul Master experts to begin a massacre. 134

Huo Yuhao returned during the attack, defeated the invading Evil Soul Masters, and later used his soul skills to repair the damaged grounds. Ma Xiaotao’s Evil Fire was also cured following the crisis. 135 136 138

After the destruction, Huo Yuhao persuaded Mu En that Shrek’s true legacy was its spirit and faith rather than its name or buildings. Shrek Academy formally ceased to exist and was replaced by the Soul Hall. 139

Campus & Facilities

• Freshman Dormitory — Huo Yuhao found his assigned room dusty, poorly maintained, and filled with stale air. He criticized the building for making roughly four hundred residents compete for a toilet. 9
• Freshman Cafeteria — A spacious dining area with meal-purchase windows, washbasins, and sinks, but no tables or chairs; students were expected to eat standing unless they supplied their own furniture. 15
• Assessment Area — A large oval combat ground north of the Martial Soul Department. It could be divided into adjustable sections; the freshman assessment used fifty zones of roughly four hundred square meters each. 39
• Sea God Pavilion — The academy’s core facility and the location of the Golden Tree, a source of light and life aura described as Shrek’s root. 115
