Background / History

Dai Huabin is the younger son of the White Tiger Duke and the younger brother of Dai Yueheng, the Duke Mansion's heir. Although considered highly talented, he lives beneath Dai Yueheng's shadow within the family. He is also engaged to Zhu Lu of the Star Luo Zhu Family, whose Hell Spirit Cat martial soul can combine with his White Tiger to form Hell White Tiger 46 69.

At Shrek Academy, Dai develops intense resentment toward Huo Yuhao after Yan Shaozhe gives Huo special treatment. He confronts Huo during the Freshman Assessment, relying on White Tiger Vajra Transformation and his fusion skill with Zhu Lu, but Huo destroys Hell White Tiger with Void-Piercing Ice Slash and wins the tournament 45 46. Dai later attempts to attack Huo again in the classroom, only to be physically subdued and controlled by Spirit Eye Illusion 47.

Believing Huo could be eliminated through force, Dai hires five Soul Kings and a Soul Emperor to ambush him. Huo survives, leaving Dai shocked and fearful; the resulting losses also place the White Tiger Duke Mansion under pressure and nearly cost Dai his core-disciple status 53 67. His relationship with Zhu Lu deteriorates as she comes under Huo's protection and later joins Huo's side 66 67.

Dai's family is later annihilated by Dai Yueheng. Watching his parents and younger brother die causes Dai's martial soul to mutate and intensifies his desire for revenge 125. After escaping, he joins the Dark Tang Sect after losing a fight to Tang Ya, but eventually leaves because he believes remaining under her will not make him strong enough to avenge his family 153 156.

When Huo encounters him again, Dai accepts humiliation and asks to join Spirit Hall, willing to abandon his pride for the chance to grow stronger and kill Dai Yueheng. Huo recruits him both for his talent and to potentially use the brothers' hatred against one another 156.

Personality

Dai Huabin is initially arrogant, status-conscious, and quick to resent those he sees as rivals. He repeatedly underestimates Huo Yuhao, trusting in his lineage as the White Tiger Duke's son and treating his own growing rank as proof that he can overturn earlier defeats 45 47 118.

Defeat does not extinguish his ambition. He trains and challenges Huo again after reaching level 41, convinced that greater soul power will settle their rivalry, but is defeated without Huo needing to fight personally 118. After his family's destruction, his pride becomes secondary to revenge: he openly accepts service under Huo despite considering him detestable 156.

He also displays genuine concern for Zhu Lu, panicking when he believes she has been attacked and attempting to locate her 66. Later, he becomes immediately infatuated with Wang Qiu'er after she saves him during a tournament match, even after she rejects his direct confession 172.

Repeated Challenges and the Duke Mansion's Fall

After pursuing Huo through direct attacks and hired assassins, Dai reaches level 41 and issues another three-on-three challenge. Zhu Lu and Wu Feng defeat his team while Huo remains uninvolved 118. Soon afterward, Dai returns to find Dai Yueheng has exterminated the White Tiger Duke Mansion, transforming Dai's motivations from rivalry into revenge 125.

Spirit Hall Recruit and Tournament Combatant

Dai abandons the Dark Tang Sect and accepts Huo's recruitment into Spirit Hall, valuing strength over dignity. By this period, he has reached the Soul Emperor realm and is considered a viable tournament representative despite distrust over his former hostility toward Huo 156 161.

During the Soul Master Tournament, Dai fights for Shrek Academy's team against the Ming Capital Soul Engineer Academy. When surrounded and targeted by artillery shells, he is rescued by Wang Qiu'er; afterward, he immediately confesses to her and is told to leave 172.
