Mu En initially appears as Shrek Academy’s seemingly unremarkable dormitory warden. After observing Huo Yuhao’s duel with Wang Dong and learning that Yuhao possesses a Spirit Eye Body Martial Soul, he recognizes his potential and considers grooming him as the next Sea God Pavilion Master. Yuhao immediately seeks apprenticeship, and Mu En accepts him as a disciple. 16 17

His true identity as the current Sea God Pavilion Master is revealed after he executes Zhou Yi and Fan Yu with a full-powered Dragon Emperor Evil-Breaking Crack. He regards Yuhao’s extraordinary talent, twin martial souls, Ultimate Ice, and high-grade soul rings as qualities suited to inheriting the Pavilion. 34

Mu En’s Dragon Pill was instrumental in his rise to level 99, but its baleful aura severely affected his body. Huo Yuhao later uses the Holy Dragon Soul Core to remove that aura, allowing Mu En to stand normally again. 17 78

Mu En is an elderly man who ordinarily rests on a recliner and is initially treated as a harmless old dormitory warden. The lingering baleful aura from his Dragon Pill once prevented him from straightening his back; after it is removed, he can sit upright normally. 29 78

Personality

Mu En is protective of Huo Yuhao and reacts fiercely when Shrek Academy fails to safeguard him. After learning that Yuhao was ambushed near Shrek City, he berates Xuan Zi for neglecting his assigned duty and moves against those connected to the White Tiger Duke Mansion without waiting for a full investigation. 57 58

Though he can be hot-tempered, blunt, and willing to use overwhelming force, Mu En retains strong personal loyalty. He hesitates to kill the corrupted Xuan Zi because of their brotherhood, only acting once Xuan Zi becomes an immediate danger to Shrek Academy. 57 107 121

Protection of Huo Yuhao

Following Yuhao’s ambush near Shrek City, Mu En blames Xuan Zi for failing to protect him, orders action against the White Tiger Duke Mansion, and offers Yuhao a hundred-thousand-year soul beast as compensation. 57 58

Shrek Academy Reforms

After the Inner Courtyard team suffers casualties, Mu En orders the distribution of Invincible Barriers and flight Soul Tools. He also pushes for exchange studies with the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy and requires Martial Soul Department students to learn Soul Tool use. 79

Xuan Zi’s Corruption

Mu En discovers that Xuan Zi has been corrupted by evil power. His Radiant Holy Dragon cannot purify it, so he seals Xuan Zi after severing his already-damaged arm. When Xuan Zi later breaks free, absorbs the Golden Tree, and threatens Shrek Academy, Mu En kills him with his ninth soul skill. 107 121

Transition from Shrek Academy to Soul Hall

When Shrek Academy is destroyed, Mu En initially refuses Huo Yuhao’s plan to replace it with the Soul Hall because of his lifelong attachment to Shrek’s legacy.
