Shisui's Submission

Neji Hyuga was in a state of enlightenment. In the crisis just now, he had sensed chakra guiding him and instinctively released his chakra, performing Rotation!

Now, all he had to do was master Rotation completely. Then he'd have a trump card that would put him head and shoulders above his peers.

Uchiha Izuna returned inside. Knowing Neji was in the middle of an epiphany and wouldn't be done anytime soon, he asked Hyuga Hiashi for some tea.

Hiashi nodded, then summoned two groups of people. One group would serve tea and refreshments to the guests inside, including Uchiha Izuna. The other would make sure Neji wasn't disturbed while he was in his state of enlightenment.

Many beautiful women from the Hyuga Clan blushed when they saw how handsome Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Shisui were. Only Uchiha Izuna was too young; they treated him like a child, like a little brother.

That left Uchiha Izuna feeling rather dejected. Everyone began drinking tea and eating.

At the table,

Uchiha Izuna ate some cold appetizers, then casually remarked, "Lord Hiashi, shouldn't you tell Shisui about the result concerning that right eye?"

He raised his eyes to look at Hiashi. The old fox had said nothing about Shimura Danzō's right eye since they returned. Uchiha Izuna couldn't tell whether he was genuinely clueless or just pretending.

At this, Hiashi immediately set down his teacup and stood. "Ah, yes." Then he turned to Uchiha Shisui. "My dear nephew, the chakra in that man's right eye was emerald green, completely at odds with his own white chakra."

"It was, well, somewhat similar to the chakra in your eyes!" Hiashi didn't mention Shimura Danzō by name. After all, secrets were safest when kept quiet, so he referred to him as "that man."

Uchiha Shisui had already suspected as much. His emotions barely stirred, but his eyes shifted in an instant from black to the Mangekyo Sharingan.

He'd suspected it for a long time. And after Shimura Danzō had attacked him at the Naka River, he'd decided that no matter what, he would stand with Uchiha Izuna.

But learning that Shimura Danzō really had been involved in his grandfather's death still made his scalp prickle. His eyes reddened, and rage surged up from within him.

Uchiha Itachi, standing closest to Uchiha Shisui, furrowed his brows. He said nothing, only watching his friend with concern. It was the first time he'd ever seen Shisui lose control like this.

But he understood. The grandfather who had loved Shisui most hadn't died fighting for the village; he'd been killed by the village's own leadership. All the respect Shisui had held for Konoha's leaders over the years vanished, and hatred began to take root in its place.

Seeing Uchiha Shisui's reaction, Uchiha Izuna's lips curled upward. No matter how many principles you explained, they wouldn't get through to someone. People didn't learn from other people's words; one lesson from experience was enough.

Uchiha Shisui suddenly spoke. "Izuna, you saved my life at the Naka River, and you uncovered the truth behind my grandfather's death. I owe you two lives. From now on, my life belongs to you!"

"Command me as you will, and I won't refuse!" Uchiha Shisui stood, walked over to Uchiha Izuna, and dropped to one knee, pledging his allegiance.

Seeing this, Uchiha Izuna hurried to help him up. "We're all from the same clan. We all bear the name Uchiha. There's no need for this—please, get up."

"Besides, Shisui, you and my older brother are close. I only did this so you wouldn't be deceived by those villains anymore and led down the wrong path."

"Now that you've seen the error of your ways, it's not too late. If we stand together as brothers, we may yet carve out a bright future." Uchiha Izuna smiled.

Uchiha Shisui was deeply moved. Just look at what Uchiha Izuna had said: not only had he forgiven Shisui for his earlier actions, right there in the Hyuga home, he'd also helped him save face. He'd even called him a brother, showing him the utmost respect.

Compared to Uchiha Izuna, Uchiha Shisui felt like a mere rookie!

The look Uchiha Itachi gave his younger brother, Uchiha Izuna, softened.

Watching this, Hiashi fell into thought. Uchiha Shisui had been a renowned force during the Third Shinobi World War, on par with Konoha's Yellow Flash. Now he'd sworn allegiance to Uchiha Izuna. That was no small matter.

Considering how Uchiha Izuna had set the mountain ablaze at the Naka River just now, Hiashi was certain the Uchiha Clan would inevitably come under Uchiha Izuna's control.

And judging by Uchiha Izuna's attitude toward Konoha's leadership, there might soon be a Coup d'état. Should Hiashi side with the Uchiha?

Just then, Hinata Hyuga timidly walked up to Uchiha Izuna and tugged at his sleeve. "Um, um, Brother Izuna, if there's anything I can do to help, just tell me."

Hiashi's pupils contracted. His teeth clenched, and he narrowed his eyes at Uchiha Izuna. Unbelievable! What on earth had this guy done to turn his little princess into this?

Uchiha Izuna froze for a moment, then gave Uchiha Shisui a look. Uchiha Shisui immediately understood. He returned to his seat and casually began discussing their future training plans with Uchiha Itachi.

Still, from the corners of their eyes, they kept watching Uchiha Izuna and Hinata Hyuga. They couldn't help thinking that this was just like Izuna: he'd already won over the Hyuga Clan's future heiress.

That was a lot easier than winning over Hiashi!

Uchiha Izuna crouched down and gently patted Hinata Hyuga's little head, smiling. "Hinata, just focus on your training. As for Neji, if he bullies you again, tell him. I'll make sure you get justice."

Hinata's face reddened, and she lowered her head. Uchiha Izuna seized the chance to glance at Hiashi, the corners of his mouth lifting. Hiashi's Byakugan flared open, his teeth grinding audibly.

This is outrageous! Uchiha Izuna has no shame. He's won over my daughter! How long has it even been? Not even half a day!

"All right, Hinata. You can go now." Hiashi's voice brought Hinata back to her senses. This time, though, she wasn't timid. She frowned and stared at her father.

Hiashi felt both pleased and wounded. The good news was that Hinata had developed her own ideas and the courage a future heiress needed.

The bad news was that the first person she'd used that courage against was her own father!

Hinata was about to protest, but Uchiha Izuna squeezed her cheek. "Be good. I'll take care of what comes next."

Hinata looked at Uchiha Izuna seriously, then nodded. Hiashi had the servants escort her back, while they curiously watched Uchiha Izuna.

Could their young lady have changed so much because of this man? Would they have to call him their son-in-law someday?

Soon, the servants had taken Hinata away, and the room settled back into silence.

Uchiha Izuna gave Hiashi a knowing smile but didn't make any attempt to win him over. After what had just happened, the initiative was already in Uchiha Izuna's hands!
