Martial Souls commonly follow inherited bloodlines, but mutations can occur. The Ye Family's direct descendants generally inherit power-oriented Qilin Martial Souls, whereas Ye Ruilin's Auspicious White Qilin is described as a unique mutation within the clan 1 78.

Some Martial Souls possess divine-beast bloodlines. The Qilin and Phoenix are explicitly identified as divine-beast Martial Souls and can exhibit resonance with one another 17.

Fire Qilin

The Fire Qilin is formed through Ye Ruilin's first ring and manifests Innate Bing Yang True Fire. Its possession form gives him crimson scales, golden eyes, a Qilin horn, and powerful fire-based combat ability 3 6 22.
