The cages were opened one by one, and everyone cheered. Some even wept with joy at regaining their freedom.
However, a red alarm immediately blared, plunging them back into tension before they could even celebrate.
"Everyone, follow me!" Raditz roared, cutting through the clamor.
Before entering the Metal Planet, they had devised a series of plans. Everyone would enter from several directions, launching a surprise attack to disrupt Bundless's judgment. After rescuing the test subjects, they would head to the nearest transport room, which had a one-way portal for transporting newly manufactured machinery.
The transport room had minimal guards, but the path leading to it passed through a stronghold with many enemies. Therefore, everyone would gather at the stronghold and then charge out together.
Everyone followed Raditz's pace, running to the rendezvous point, with Goku keeping watch at the rear.
By the time they arrived, Vegeta and the others had just reached the location.
They had managed to run out, but on the wide avenue, the dark red Metal Warriors had already detected their movements and were approaching in swarms, too numerous to count.
"Tricky bastards, so alert."
"Who cares what they are, just destroy them!" Vegeta had fought his way here from the mech hangar, eliminating countless enemies. These guys weren't even on his radar. He gathered two Ki blasts in his hands, swung his arms, and fired forward.
The explosion didn't happen as expected. A dozen Metal Warriors lined up, forming a large shield with a transparent energy barrier that completely absorbed Vegeta's energy.
The Prince's battle tactic, "Throwing Ki blasts," was declared a failure.
Vegeta stared in shock, "How...?"
"Listen to me, they learn our fighting styles and evolve countermeasures. From initial firepower assaults to close-quarters combat, then to overwhelming numbers, and now energy absorption shields – these are all results of their evolution," Raditz analyzed. "But the only thing that hasn't changed is that their strength is still very weak. Let's not use Ki blasts; just punch them directly, one punch at a time!"
"Just as I wanted!" Nappa bellowed carelessly. His solid muscles gleamed, appearing even more imposing beneath his new combat armor.
With a shout, he charged forward, closing in on the Metal Warriors in front of him like a rolling boulder. Even the Metal Warriors were confused; their data didn't include this fighting style. No energy blasts, no flanking, no high-speed movement, no specific stances?
For a moment, their data recompiled, and the Metal Warriors in front of Nappa reverted to their initial instinctive combat state.
But Nappa didn't care about their state. He moved like a thunderbolt, reaching the Metal Warriors and grabbing three cold, metallic machines, crushing their bodies with brute force. Although they were made of high-strength alloy, under Nappa's power, they deformed and twisted into grotesque shapes.
The resisting Metal Warriors revealed the scimitars on their arms. The unknown metal emitted a cold, silver light, slashing at Nappa like lightning.
"Dodge!" Vegeta suddenly yelled.
Nappa ignored him, instead looking up and charging towards the blade. A white aura erupted around him, and with a "bang," he repelled the Metal Warrior's entire arm. Then, he exerted force with both hands, crossed them, and squeezed!
"Clang!" "Clang!" "Clang!"
The three metallic bodies snapped in half and fell to the ground, making loud noises.
"Vegeta, not only have you gotten stronger, but he's also put thought into training himself," Raditz walked to Vegeta's side, looking at the burly Nappa with satisfaction. "He doesn't train any less than you do."
Vegeta glanced at Raditz with a knowing look.
"Of course, and them too," Raditz tilted his head and smiled.
At this moment, Tien Shinhan had already leaped forward lightly. He weaved through the Metal Warriors, catching them off guard with his Four Wielding Fist. Although the power of his four arms wasn't as great as Nappa's, his punches could penetrate their armor without issue.
The Metal Warriors immediately began reading data, analyzing, and then using various piercing weapons, spewing curtains of flame to block the assault.
"Hmph, these scrap metal trash, they're nothing special," Piccolo extended his arm, wrapping around several enemies like a snake. His long arm snaked around them from below, unnoticed, and bound them instantly.
Then, Piccolo yanked his arm, and the Metal Warriors' legs were immediately restrained. They were dragged along, knocking over a whole group.
Goku scratched his head, his hands itching for a fight. He exchanged a look with Vegeta and immediately launched a fierce assault on the enemy. Their eyes met, revealing a competitive spirit; they wanted to see who could defeat more opponents.
Goku, now experienced, concentrated his power into a single point on his fist and struck their bodies fiercely. The thick armor couldn't withstand the power of a single punch and shattered instantly, the flashing electronic lights dimming.
Continuous hammering shattered countless mechs, piles of debris accumulating in the corridor, and explosions occurring one after another.
"You guys..." The girl was stunned. She never imagined there would be such powerful individuals who could utterly overwhelm the terrifying machines, and also Raditz, who was holding her hand.
"Don't worry, we're very strong," Raditz smiled slightly.
As if in response, the girl's dazed face gradually regained its spirit. She smiled at Raditz, her smile blooming like a flower.
Under everyone's fierce fighting, they carved out a bloody path. The group moved forward along the corridor, approaching the transport room. The path gradually widened, and the intercepting machines were greatly reduced.
"Data collection complete! Data collection complete!" Suddenly, the Metal Warriors stopped in unison and issued a stiff warning, "Mission complete! Mission complete!"
As the alarm ended, their bodies lost power, automatically decomposing into scrap metal and collapsing to the ground.
Dozens of mechanical warriors simultaneously went offline, creating a spectacular scene. However, everyone was bewildered and remained on guard, fearing they had fallen into another trap.
"Is their time up?"
"I don't know, let them be. Let's take this chance to leave."
"We are inside the planet now, so we should be careful," Piccolo said calmly, his gaze cold as he glanced at the test subjects behind him. "Especially with so many people."
Raditz nodded. "But the chip's location hasn't been confirmed. If we don't stop it, our ship will still have trouble breaking through the atmosphere. How about this: you take the hostages and leave, I'll go stop Bundless!"
"Don't even think about it!" Vegeta blocked Raditz. "I'll deal with him."
"What? I wanted to fight it too. What if there are even stronger guys?"
"Kakarot, you were the one who suggested rescuing them, so you should be the one to manage them," Vegeta snorted.
Goku frowned and continued to argue.
The two bickered back and forth, causing the test subjects to shift their gaze left and right, completely bewildered.
"No one can escape my control!" Suddenly, a sharp voice echoed from the vast depths.
It calls itself "I"!
So it's the Metal Planet itself?
Everyone tensed up, their gazes fixed on the other end of the long, winding passage. Brilliant lights flashed, a blinding white expanse. What could be there?
Tien Shinhan's eyes were the first to spot the target again, but this time, his pupils trembled uncontrollably.
"Goku... that's Goku..."
