Cailin was originally known only by the title Queen Medusa, ruler of the Snake-People Tribe. Her true form is a Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python, and Ye Yan later identifies a possible higher evolution: the Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python. Achieving that evolution requires a Nine-Colored Primordial Stone and an energy-rich location. 120 144 199

After Ye Yan repeatedly calls her “Little Snake,” their confrontation ends in a truce. Observing that she has no personal name, he names her Cailin—taking Cai from her Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python bloodline and Lin from the beauty of her scales.
