Lawrence already understood that this Demonic Beast could not be reasoned with.
It was a tentacle of Beast II, Tiamat, and had gone on a Rampage along with Tiamat. Negotiation was simply impossible—it was an enemy, and would only ever be an enemy.
"Goddess Nanshe! Don't hold back—my support abilities provide a huge boost!"
Lawrence shouted as her magical energy senses locked completely onto Lahmu.
"I know! Thank you!"

Divine light flared in Nanshe's eyes. She thanked Lawrence, then charged forward.
Hum—
Water rippled along the Springwater Sword as Nanshe slashed at Lahmu.
But Lahmu was faster than Nanshe had expected. It suddenly vanished as if it had teleported, then lashed out at her with all four of its sharp limbs.
Nanshe reacted quickly as well. She stepped back and lightly touched the air before her, conjuring a shield like a water mirror between herself and Lahmu.
Splash—
The water mirror shattered under Lahmu's attack before it even lasted a second, but Nanshe had bought enough time.
Clang—
She shifted to the side and swung the Springwater Sword again. More water surged forth. Nanshe had unleashed Mana Burst from the very start, leaving even the surrounding air a little more humid.
Lawrence moved as she observed the battlefield.
