After flying over a somewhat desolate forest and rounding a high mountain, the three Servants beheld a giant that seemed to hold up heaven and earth itself—Mesopotamia's loving mother, Tiamat.
"Has she changed at all since the last time you saw her?"
Quetzalcoatl slowed down and asked Annanu.
There was a trace of shock and doubt in her eyes.
She really was a Beast. Such magical energy.
"The last time I came here, there weren't so many flies around her."
Annanu controlled the wyvern beneath him as well, keeping them at roughly the same altitude as he frowned.
Had she begun summoning Demonic Beasts? Or were the Demonic Beasts rising from the black mud on their own?
Either possibility sounded like bad news.
"What do you plan to do?" Quetzalcoatl looked at this interesting weapon.
"I'll summon a gale and sweep away the black mud beneath her feet, along with all the flies around her." Annanu had no intention of changing his plan. He stood up on the wyvern's back with a faint smile on his lips. "Then you can do what you do best."
"Hoho, what I do best?" Quetzalcoatl smiled just as wickedly.
She had no other particular talent—she was just exceptionally good at fighting. Very exceptionally good.
"Then what am I supposed to do?" Jaguar Man pointed at herself with a blank look.
"Go find them."
Annanu pointed toward the horizon behind them.
Over there, a group was hurrying toward Tiamat.
"Lord Yoshitsune, look over there!"
Liao Ye, riding on horseback, noticed the black dots on the horizon and spoke to Ushiwakamaru, who was nearest to him.
"Are those Demonic Beasts? But it looks like there are people standing on their backs?" Ushiwakamaru found it strange.
"That—looks like Annanu. But what's going on with the other one?"
