Looking west from the highway, aside from the lights of the towering buildings, there was only darkness—a darkness so complete it was as if that district had never existed at all.
And within the darkness, things that could not stand the light often lurked.
For example—
Those eyes.
"Awooooo—"
The beast's roar was very close.
"Senpai—A massive Spirit Origin reaction has suddenly been detected, even larger than Mr. Phantom of the Opera's from before—both in terms of size and magical energy!"
"Damn it, it's closer than I expected—Hey, Caster, stop standing there and run!"
As if he were deeply afraid of the enormous beast, Archer grabbed Fujimaru Ritsuka's hand and ran east.
The monster in the shadows was approaching from the west. They could only run east!
"Mash, what's the situation now?"
Fujimaru Ritsuka asked Mash as he ran.
Going back was out of the question. Phantom of the Opera and Christine had probably already broken free and were heading this way. If they turned back, they would likely run into Phantom of the Opera.
"That Servant—No, is that really a Servant!?"
Mash's voice trembled with shock.
"According to Sheba, it's charging toward you at over two hundred kilometers per hour. Is that even a monster!?"
"Hah—If a living creature can reach two hundred kilometers per hour, what else could it be but a monster?"
Archer wore an awful expression as he spoke while running.
"Senpai, the distance between you and that Servant is rapidly closing. It looks like you can't outrun it!"
"If we can't outrun it—then we'll have to find a way to deal with it!"
Gritting his teeth, Fujimaru Ritsuka stopped short, nearly pulling Archer, who had been dragging him along, off his feet as well.
"Archer, tell us everything you know about that Servant, now!"
