Lawrence showed a somewhat helpless smile.
"Though I don't know what happened before, you must really want to save the new Director."
"Then let's save him. Miss Lawrence will stay with you all the way."
As he spoke, he looked up at Leonardo da Vinci.
Da Vinci merely sighed with a smile. Without saying anything to Lawrence, she turned her head and called into the container.
"Hey, the guy inside with the slicked-back hair—you heard all that, right?!"
"To sum it up, these three in front of me look like they won't be talked out of this even if they die! So we're going to save someone now!"
"We'll be back soon—until then, you and everyone else just stay here and wait obediently!"
Even now, Fujimaru Ritsuka maintained that strong expression from before, though tears were already welling up in his eyes.
He looked at Lawrence, then at Da Vinci, and wiped away the tears before they could fall with his sleeve.
"Thank you. I'm sorry."
He thanked them because they were willing to risk their lives with him, and he apologized for the very same reason.
"I suppose this counts as that guy's luck! Since he said something like that, there's no reason to just ignore him!"
Da Vinci gave Lawrence's shoulder a push, drank the mana-restoring potion hanging around her neck, then accepted a bottle of life-saving mana medicine Lawrence handed her.
Judging from Chaldea's current internal situation, the three intruders were most likely somewhere near Chaldea's center—in other words, near the Control Room. They had to be prepared for battle.
