"NO—!!!"
Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash seemed to realize something and tried to stop the vehicle door from being opened.
But with their current speed and strength, how could they possibly compare to Jefferson Hyde?
Lawrence was still frozen in shock, standing there for a moment without knowing what to do.
And in that brief moment of hesitation, a hand reached through the gap that had been pried open, letting in a bone-chilling gust of wind.
It reached in—and suddenly seized Lawrence by the throat.
"Urgh—"
BAM!
Lawrence was yanked violently into the door.
BAM!!!
The gap was pulled wider, and Lawrence was about to be dragged straight out of the vehicle.
"Miss Lawrence!"
"Miss Lawrence!!!"
Mash and Fujimaru Ritsuka grabbed Lawrence's arms at once, crying out.
They had already lost Leonardo da Vinci. They absolutely could not lose Lawrence too!
"J-Jefferson—what are you doing?!"
The somewhat slow-witted Goredolf Musik finally realized that something was wrong. He took half a step back, staring blankly at Jefferson Hyde, who had one hand gripping the handle on the outside of the vehicle and the other clutching Lawrence.
"You—you escaped, didn't you? What are you—what are you doing now?!"
He still did not want to believe that the childhood friend he had grown up playing with had betrayed him.
"Argh—"
Lawrence let out a scream as her throat was squeezed.
"Damn it. He can pry open the car door with brute force? What kind of monster is this?!"
Even a few beads of cold sweat had appeared on Sherlock Holmes's forehead.
Even he felt somewhat helpless in this situation.
He had run down a six-thousand-meter mountain, caught up with a vehicle speeding downhill in freezing conditions, and then pried open its door with his bare hands.
Was all their effort going to be sacrificed
