There had been no concrete details—only that suffocating, painful, terrifying sensation.
When he opened his eyes again, he found that the alarms inside the submarine had already begun to sound.

He abruptly sat up, just in time to see Mash throw open the door to his room.

Mash shouted.

Fujimaru Ritsuka shoved on his shoes at top speed, grabbed his coat, and rushed out of the room toward the control room.
Holding Fou tightly in her arms, Mash followed close behind Fujimaru Ritsuka.
Before they even entered the control room, the two could hear the anxious voices coming from inside.
"Sherlock, report the radar situation! What is that thing doing right now? Is it still wandering the snowfield?"
Leonardo da Vinci's announcement echoed throughout the entire submarine.
"It is."
Sherlock Holmes was practically pressed against the radar screen, his expression grave.
"It has likely detected us, but it does not know our exact location. It is still trying to lock onto us."
"What!? How could this happen!?"
Goredolf's forehead was already drenched in sweat, his face twisted with utter terror.
"We—doesn't this submarine have optical camouflage? Don't tell me those two geniuses cut corners on that!"
"How could we!?"
Leonardo da Vinci shouted indignantly.
"Nothing in this world is perfect! Even the optical camouflage we developed can't possibly guarantee absolute safety!"
"To put it bluntly, this thing was mainly meant to evade soldiers on the level of Valkyries. The one outside searching for us is obviously no Valkyrie!"
