"Sounds like a battle has broken out outside. I can faintly hear roaring."
"We can't see the battle from the windows, Holmes. What about the radar?"
Goredolf was tending to Munier's wounds while nervously asking Sherlock Holmes.
"That magical energy signature..."
Sherlock Holmes did not answer at once. He merely frowned at the new, smaller magical energy signature.
Why did it feel somewhat familiar?
"Mash, come with me."
Fujimaru Ritsuka reacted differently.
"Huh? Okay!"
Mash froze for a moment before hurriedly nodding.
She had no idea what her senior was going to do, but she had to follow him!
"Hey—wait!"
Goredolf nearly jumped out of his skin and hurriedly stopped Fujimaru Ritsuka.
"You're going outside!? What are you going out there for!? Do you have any idea how dangerous it is out there right now!? And what if that thing rushes in through the door the moment you open it and kills all of us!?"
"I'll go with you."
Before Goredolf had even finished speaking, Sherlock Holmes stepped away from the radar.
"Huh!? Holmes—you too!?"
Goredolf's eyes widened.
"Miss Fujimaru is correct, Deputy Director."
Sherlock Holmes looked seriously at the new director.
"Without a doubt, a battle has broken out outside the submarine. We do not know who the other party is, but if they are fighting the Lostbelt Servant pursuing us, then that means we have an opportunity."
"We must react quickly now—we have no time to stay here. Let us go, Fujimaru Ritsuka!"
With that, Sherlock Holmes ignored Goredolf's attempts to stop him and opened the hatch.
"Roar—!!!"
The moment the hatch opened, everyone inside heard a furious roar that sounded almost like a wail.
The roar seemed like the voices of many people layered together, mixed with the cries of various beasts. It sounded sorrowful—and furious.
