Lowering her shield, Mash let out a sigh of relief, breathing heavily.
As usual, whenever they reached a Leyline node, they had to clear out the assorted creatures gathered there beforehand.
Giants slumbered here, along with some Demonic Beasts of ice and snow. Those were what they had just been fighting.
"Yeah, Mash."
Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded and looked at Napoleon.
"Mr. Napoleon, can you find a way to clear away the snow around here?"
The snow was infused with the magical energy of Scathach-Skadi, the Queen of Scandinavia. If they did not clear it away, it could have unpredictable effects on the summoning.
So they had to clear the snow, then carry out the summoning quickly during the daytime, when it would not snow.
"Oh! Leave it to me!"
Without caring whether making an emperor like himself do this sort of work would damage his dignity or anything—Napoleon obediently began clearing the snow from the ground by blasting it away with cannon fire.
"Still, it does feel a little strange."
Mash wore an odd expression.
"As far as I know, ever since Chaldea arrived in the Scandinavian Lostbelt, their drinking water has been obtained from the snow on the ground, right?"
"And that snow contains Scathach-Skadi's magical energy. Is it really okay to drink it?"
"It should be fine."
Fujimaru Ritsuka was clearing away the scattered snow. He looked up as he spoke.
"Once the water is boiled, the magical energy dissipates. It's only magical energy, not the Goddess's divine power, so there's no need to worry too much."
"Rookie, this side's all taken care of!"
Napoleon had already jumped out of the huge crater he had blasted into the ground and flashed Fujimaru Ritsuka a bright smile.
