Napoleon raised his head and stared at the ice mansion before him in astonishment.
From afar, it did look like a castle, but judging by its structure, "mansion" was a more fitting description.
The flames burning atop it, paired with the castle's magnificent appearance, made it exactly as Napoleon had said—truly spectacular!
"Building a mansion in a place like this, and one that's on fire, no less... This must be where the Third Goddess is being sealed. There couldn't possibly be anywhere else."
Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded.
Amid hundreds of miles of desolate wilderness, with neither oases nor villages in sight, only this ice mansion stood alone. There was no need to think about it—something was definitely wrong with this place.
"These flames seem just like the ones burning on the mountains."
Mash, equally awestruck, looked up at the mansion.
"I thought those flames were strange before. They're flames, yet they don't melt the ice—and the ice is the same. It's ice, yet it isn't melting in the flames."
"Is space itself fixing these places in place?"
Fujimaru Ritsuka boldly proposed a hypothesis.
"It's so hot... My body is warning me. This place is dangerous."
Holding Fou in his arms, Norla warily watched the strange flames burning across the mansion.
"It should be caused by some kind of magecraft—or perhaps these flames themselves are a large-scale spell."
"If they don't affect ice or snow, that would explain why neither the ice mountains nor the mansion has been melted by such intense heat."
"Could it be that this place has something like flame runes carved into it?"
Since this was Scandinavian Mystery, one could not help but think of the great god's Primordial Runes.
