Ch. 1552Demonic Beasts Craving Nutrients

Gilgamesh's forces searched for Basmu while Lahmu planned to devour the last remaining Demonic Beast and destroy Uruk. At Lemoni's battlefield, Quetzalcoatl appeared and introduced herself as an independently summoned Servant, leaving the group surprised by Lemoni's earnest apology to her.

  • Gilgamesh asked Zi Juan about Basmu's location, but Zi Juan and Ushiwakamaru said the Poison Dragon was difficult to track.
  • Lahmu revealed that it had devoured four Demonic Beasts and intended to consume Basmu before destroying Uruk in accordance with its mother's wish.
  • Lemoni and Jaguar Man's evenly matched battle paused when Quetzalcoatl appeared on a tree branch.
  • Quetzalcoatl introduced herself as a Servant summoned into the Singularity, and Lemoni lowered his guard after hearing her explanation.
  • Lemoni apologized for distrusting her divinity, stunning Quetzalcoatl before she laughed at his earnestness.

Ch. 1553Stheno's Time is Running Out

As Quetzalcoatl led Lemoni and the others through Eridu, Stheno worried that Lemoni would forget her and asked him to promise he would remember her. She then said her time was running out and kissed him.

  • Quetzalcoatl guided Lemoni and the others through Eridu, where she explained that the king had died fighting Demonic Beasts.
  • Stheno asked Lemoni whether he would remember her if she died, and he promised that he would never forget her.
  • Stheno said her time was running out, then grasped Lemoni's face and kissed him.

Ch. 1554The Goddess and the Hero's Promise

Ch. 1555Want to Blow Up Oushen's Nostrils

Stheno reunited with Euryale and Anna, while Quetzalcoatl agreed to join Uruk’s forces after taking responsibility for Eridu. Lemoni resolved to attack Oushen’s nostrils the next time they were summoned together, and Merlin prepared to leave with Euryale.

  • Stheno comforted Euryale and drew Anna into their reunion, while the sisters acknowledged Anna’s psychological pressure and postponed dealing with it.
  • Euryale learned that Lemoni was Stheno’s hero and teased her after Stheno said they had made a promise to the Throne of Heroes.
  • Quetzalcoatl agreed to go to Uruk to fight Tiamat but said she would first settle matters in Eridu.
  • Quetzalcoatl let Jaguar Man choose whether to stay or leave, and Jaguar Man decided to wait for her in Eridu.

Ch. 1556A Heaven-Defying Journey

Gilgamesh learned that Abzu was growing stronger and that Tiamat might soon emerge, so he ordered Uruk's Servants to return and prepare to defend the city. Merlin and Lemoni accelerated their journey back to Uruk by carrying Merlin and the three goddesses through the air.

  • Gilgamesh received a roar from Abzu through the communication mirror, and Enkidu reported that Abzu was becoming harder to restrain.
  • Enkidu warned Gilgamesh that Tiamat might be coming, and Gilgamesh ordered Fujimaru Ritsuka to recall Chaldea's Servants.
  • Merlin told Lemoni that Tiamat's condition seemed to be worsening and that they needed to hurry back to Uruk.

Fujimaru Ritsuka’s group prepared for Tiamat’s approach when Lemoni, carrying Merlin and the three goddesses, crash-landed in Uruk. The arrivals survived, but Lemoni’s legs were trapped and apparently broken, so he asked Lawrence for treatment.

  • Lawrence gave Fujimaru Ritsuka the simplified Divine Authority Seal and gemstones as Roman warned him to stay safe.
  • Roman detected an unusual magical signature approaching Uruk, resembling Lemoni and Merlin’s overlapping signatures, and Lawrence prepared the group for battle.
  • Lemoni arrived in Uruk carrying Merlin, Stheno, Euryale, and Anna, then slammed into the streets and carved two trenches with his legs.
  • Stheno fainted after making Lemoni promise not to travel that way again, while Euryale and Anna also passed out and Merlin trembled from the landing.

Ch. 1561Battle with Lahmu

Lahmu chased the wounded Bashmu until Lemoni intervened, then faced attacks from Lemoni, Nanshe, and Ishtar. The Servants struggled to overcome Lahmu’s strange defenses as it laughed and gathered black mud again.

  • Lahmu pursued Bashmu, whose poisonous flames could not harm it, and prepared to kill its wounded brother.
  • Lemoni blasted Lahmu away from Bashmu, and Nanshe, Ishtar, and Merlin arrived to surround the Demonic Beast.
  • Ishtar, Nanshe, and Lemoni attacked Lahmu, but it used black mud to evade their blows and countered Nanshe by twisting its body around.
  • Lahmu gathered black mud and increased its magical power, so Lemoni warned Nanshe to protect herself and repeatedly detonated the Golden Spear.

Ch. 1562The Increasingly Tricky Battlefield

Lemoni, Ishtar, Merlin, and Nanshe battled Lahmu, but the injured creature focused on its dying brother, Bashmu. Lahmu killed Bashmu and devoured its heart, leaving the Servants facing an even more dangerous enemy.

  • Lemoni repeatedly detonated the Golden Spear, badly injuring Lahmu, before its roar sent him flying and left him too weakened to keep fighting.
  • Merlin and Nanshe shielded the group from Lahmu’s roar while Nanshe used spring water to hold back the black mud.

Ch. 1563The Awakened Shield of Humanity

Lahmu grew stronger after consuming Bashmu’s heart, taking Merlin out and badly injuring Lemoni while Nanshe held it off. Fujimaru Ritsuka led a team to aid Nanshe as Gilgamesh discovered that Kurgarru and Galatur had awakened, giving Uruk another way to resist the growing threat.

  • Lahmu struck Merlin and Lemoni, and Merlin’s Saint Graph faded as he was taken out.

  • Nanshe drove her sword into the ground and prepared to unleash her Noble Phantasm.

Ch. 1566The Death of Lahmu

Nanshe and Zi Juan combined their Noble Phantasms to destroy Lahmu, but Lahmu warned that Tiamat had already prepared for her return. As the group prepared to go back, the story shifted to the Persian Gulf, where Tiamat stood amid a sea covered in red-black mud.

  • Fujimaru Ritsuka coordinated Nanshe’s attack with Zi Juan’s Noble Phantasm to prevent Lahmu from escaping into the black mud.
  • Nanshe unleashed her springwater Noble Phantasm, exposing Lahmu to Zi Juan’s spear strike.
  • Zi Juan pierced Lahmu’s core while Nanshe wounded its neck, and both survived Lahmu’s final counterattack.

  • Zi Juan prepared to return to the Demonic Beast Front and sensed something toward the sea.
  • At the Persian Gulf, Tiamat stood amid red-black mud covering the sea.

Ch. 1567Ishtar's Obsession

After the Demonic Beasts stopped regenerating, Uruk’s defenders assessed the battlefield and reunited. Gilgamesh sent Ishtar to investigate Tiamat’s side, warning that she might not return, and promised to ensure Uruk’s possible destruction would not be in vain.

  • Liao Ye and the defenders finished fighting the Demonic Beasts as the black mud began to disappear, and Adekate warned his troops not to touch it.

  • Gilgamesh asked Ishtar to investigate Tiamat’s side because Enkidu could not leave Uruk, and Ishtar warned that she might not return.
  • Ishtar demanded that Gilgamesh not let Uruk be destroyed for nothing, and he promised her he would not.

Ch. 1568Abzu's Riot, Tiamat Awakens

Abzu broke free in the Underworld, forcing Annanu to warn Gilgamesh that the Beast could reach Uruk within days. Meanwhile, Ishtar and Chaldea reached the black mud-covered Persian Gulf and found Tiamat waiting at its center.

  • Abzu shattered Annanu's restraints and hurled him into a wall before Enkidu stayed behind to delay Abzu with the Chains of Heaven.
  • Annanu switched places with Enkidu and told Gilgamesh that Abzu was climbing toward the surface and might arrive within five to seven days.
  • Gilgamesh considered trying to keep Abzu in the Underworld and draw Tiamat there too, then decided to wait for Ishtar to wake their mother.
  • Ishtar arrived at the Persian Gulf with Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, Lawrence, Zi Juan, and Ushiwakamaru, where they found the waters replaced by vast black mud.
  • Ishtar pointed out Tiamat, who stood bound in the center of the black sea and sang to the group.

Ch. 1569The Enchanting Daughter Who Sings

Fujimaru Ritsuka and her allies watched Ishtar attack Tiamat with her Noble Phantasm, but the blast did not destroy the Beast. Tiamat emerged from the black sea as a colossal figure and turned her gaze toward Uruk.

  • Roman warned Fujimaru Ritsuka that Tiamat's magical energy was connected to the black mud and would be difficult to measure.
  • Fujimaru Ritsuka and the others withdrew while Ishtar prepared to attack Tiamat.
  • Ishtar opened a gate to Venus, channeled its power into Maanna, and fired her Noble Phantasm at Tiamat.
  • After the blast faded, Tiamat was no longer visible, but the black mud remained and bubbles rose from the sea.
  • Roman warned that the real Beast II was coming, and a gigantic Tiamat rose from beneath the sea.
  • Tiamat sang and looked northwest toward Uruk.

Ch. 1570Storm

After Chaldea discovered that Tiamat’s power was nearing the level of a third-class planet, Roman warned that she would reach Uruk in one week. Gilgamesh planned to have Annanu use a storm to strip away Tiamat’s black mud while Enkidu held back Abzu below, hoping to bring both threats to Uruk at the same time.

  • Roman reported Tiamat’s immense power and warned Fujimaru Ritsuka’s group to retreat as she began moving toward Uruk.
  • Fujimaru Ritsuka rode back to Uruk with Zi Juan after their mission at the shore was complete.
  • Gilgamesh learned that Tiamat and Abzu were each expected to reach Uruk in about a week.
  • Gilgamesh reasoned that Tiamat needed the black mud to move and told Annanu to use his power as a storm to sweep it away.
  • Annanu agreed to hold back Tiamat while Enkidu held back Abzu, and Gilgamesh trusted them to make the plan work.

Ch. 1571The Symbol of Uruk

As Tiamat advanced toward Uruk, Lemoni took Stheno, Euryale, and Anna away while Siduri chose to remain in the city with Gilgamesh. Annanu flew ahead of Fujimaru Ritsuka’s group toward Tiamat, where the wind began gathering around him.

  • Lemoni carried Stheno on his shoulder and left with Euryale and Anna before Tiamat reached Uruk.
