Background / History

Fujimaru Tachibana is the younger sister of the original Fujimaru Ritsuka. Her existence was rejected by the world, leaving her unable to continue existing unless she accomplished extraordinary deeds; this burden became tied to a mission of salvation entrusted to her by her brother. 449 452

To protect Tachibana from experimentation connected to her Honkai powers, the siblings switched identities. Ritsuka later arranged contingencies within her soul, including sealed memories and abilities that could surface when she faced critical circumstances. 655 1167

After surviving under her brother's identity, she publicly reclaimed the name Fujimaru Tachibana. Her parents supported the decision, and Murata Himeko confirmed that she could now exist under her own name without being rejected by the world. 460 554

Tachibana initially entered Chaldea as a reserve Master. A malfunction during virtual-reality combat training caused fragments of her previous life to emerge, including a persistent memory of an important boy later understood to be her brother. 584 587

She eventually learns that she had been a Master in the first timeline, where she helped save humanity from both the Incineration of Humanity and the Honkai disaster. That timeline restarted after humanity lost its Savior, leaving Tachibana to confront the consequences of a life she could not initially remember. 889

Appearance

Tachibana is an orange-haired girl with a fair, feminine appearance. She commonly wears Chaldea's white Master combat uniform while operating in the field. 554 584

  • Temporarily manifests with Fujimaru Ritsuka's male appearance when overlapping Singularities distort the records of her identity. 814
  • Returns to her original female form after recovering from Honkai sickness. 960
  • Her Honkai-adapted body grants her exceptional eyesight, allowing her to observe distant battlefields from kilometers away. 1050

Personality

Tachibana begins as a laid-back and curious girl drawn to Chaldea's benefits and the fantastical world surrounding it. Even so, she possesses a strong sense of responsibility and quickly commits herself to becoming someone capable of protecting others. 578 554

She is notably straightforward. Rather than relying on polished diplomacy, she says what she means, including when confronting Konoha over its earlier hostility toward Kikyo. This bluntness can be awkward, but it also makes her sincerity clear. 601 607

In battle, Tachibana is cautious rather than reckless; when the situation is unclear, she remains protected and waits for actionable information. Her courage is rooted in protecting companions and surviving alongside them, not in a desire for glory. 599 783 787

Recovering her past-life memories makes her more assertive, mature, and intimidating. She becomes willing to oppose Kevin and the Stigmata Project outright if it threatens her brother's existence, while retaining concern for Mash and her other companions. 1167 1179

Abilities & Skills

Master Aptitude

Tachibana possesses extraordinary natural compatibility with the Master system despite initially lacking meaningful magecraft experience.

  • Forms contracts with wild Heroic Spirits and Servants, including Naruto, Mash, Nitocris, Ramses II, Xuanzang Sanzang, and others. 611 616 924 925
  • Supplies Naruto and Mash with high-quality magical energy without strain, even when Chaldea cannot provide external magical-energy support. 616
  • Her magical-energy reserves are compared to those of a humanoid Holy Grail. 616
  • Her later connection to the source of the Evils of Humanity enables a nearly unlimited magical-energy supply, though the arrangement carries risk. 925

Command Spells

Tachibana uses Command Spells as tactical tools rather than simple emergency orders.

  • Can empower Servants at decisive moments, including Mash's deployment of Lord Camelot against mutated Shukaku. 731
  • Can pass knowledge and determination to Mash through a Command Spell, allowing her to draw out Galahad's power. 655
  • Chaldea's Command Spells can be replenished through its equipment, but normally cannot be restored outside Chaldea. 584
  • Receives remotely projected Command Spells in the Ninja World, though projecting even one set demands significant power from Chaldea. 599

Tactical Command

Tachibana's strongest combat contribution is her ability to direct allies under extreme pressure.

  • Rapidly issues precise orders concerning targets, skills, formations, defenses, and enemy baiting. 731
  • Raises a hastily assembled raiding party's effectiveness far beyond its normal coordination. 731
  • Correctly anticipates Shukaku's ultimate attack and responds with a Command Spell almost immediately. 732
  • Consolidates allies' intelligence into practical battle plans, including the surprise bombardment and ambush against Gorgon. 1050 1052

Magecraft and Enhancement Support

After recovering part of her first-timeline memories, Tachibana becomes capable of practical magecraft.

  • Casts continuous enhancement spells that improve allies' attack, defense, agility, and combat performance. 1214
  • Can immobilize one target at a time. 1214
  • The immobilization spell has a range of approximately thirty meters and can be used about once every fifteen seconds. 1214
  • Her magic appears unusually effective against Lahmu, which she speculates may be due to possessing higher authority than them. 1214

Honkai-Enhanced Body

Honkai adaptation grants Tachibana personal survival capabilities, though she remains primarily a Master rather than a frontline Servant-level fighter.

  • Immune to Honkai sickness and resistant to Honkai energy. 960
  • Possesses enhanced strength and stamina sufficient to carry another person while evading pursuit. 960
  • Displays refined close-quarters reactions and combat instincts inherited from previous-life experience. 1030
  • Has physical attributes comparable to an elite soldier in Iskandar's Ionian Hetairoi, but lacks the personal combat ability to contest high-level Servants or gods directly. 960

Sealed Memories and Contingencies

Ritsuka's preparations left Tachibana with hidden memories and abilities that emerge when needed.

  • Her previous-life memories begin resurfacing through Servant command, Spiritron Transfer, and dream-world experiences. 584 614 1167
  • Her brother placed “safety locks” on these memories because the world reacts maliciously to Tachibana's true identity. 1167
  • The Destiny Observer, later identified as Su Yun, protected her from threats such as Aizen. 655
