Danzo's Killing Intent

After Orochimaru's failed probe, Danzo could no longer sit still.

In the Root Base's conference room, Danzo summoned the most elite Root shinobi. The atmosphere was tense. Every Root operative knelt respectfully on the floor, waiting for Danzo's orders.

"Even Orochimaru failed. It seems I'll have to act personally." Danzo's voice was dark and ruthless, a dangerous glint flashing in his single eye. "That Uchiha Xingye has become our greatest threat."

A Root jonin raised his head and said respectfully, "Lord Danzo, Xingye is indeed very powerful. I heard he just drove Orochimaru back."

"Orochimaru?" Danzo sneered. "That rogue ninja only causes trouble. Still, if even Orochimaru failed, then Xingye must be quite powerful."

"What should we do, then?" another Root shinobi asked.

Danzo fell silent for a moment, a trace of killing intent flashing in his eye.

"Send the most elite Root squad to prepare to assassinate Xingye," Danzo ordered. "This time, failure is not an option."

"Understood!" the Root shinobi answered in unison.

That night, six Root jonin quietly infiltrated the Uchiha Clan Compound. They were the most elite shinobi in Root, skilled in assassination and stealth. A cold killing intent radiated from each of them.

But Xingye's Byakugan had detected their presence long ago.

"Danzo, you're still as impatient as ever." Xingye stood on a rooftop in the compound, looking down at the infiltrating Root shinobi with a cold smile. "Since you want to play, I'll play along to the end."

Xingye didn't choose to confront them head-on. Instead, he began his counterattack.

Using the compound's terrain to his advantage, he waged a guerrilla war against the Root shinobi. Each of them thought they were hunting Xingye, but every time, they had only been chasing one of his Shadow Clones.

"Shadow Clone Technique?" A Root shinobi stared in shock as the Xingye clone before him vanished.

Just then, a kunai stabbed in from behind, striking the Root shinobi in the shoulder.

"What?!" The Root shinobi turned around and saw the real Xingye.

"You're too slow," Xingye said coldly.

Lightning Release: Chidori!

Blinding lightning struck the Root shinobi, sending him flying.

Hearing the commotion, the other Root shinobi hurried over to support him.

But Xingye had already disappeared.

"He's over there!" another Root shinobi cried, pointing at a distant rooftop.

Xingye stood on the rooftop, looking coldly down at the Root shinobi below.

"Did you come here to die?" Xingye's voice was calm, but a dangerous glint shone in his eyes.

The Root shinobi immediately launched their attacks.

Wind Release: Vacuum Wave! Great Fireball Technique! Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!

A barrage of jutsu struck Xingye all at once, forming a powerful wave of attacks.

But Xingye was ready.

Susanoo!

Orange chakra formed a massive suit of samurai armor around Xingye, blocking every attack.

"Susanoo?!" The Root shinobi were stunned.

"Uchiha Xingye awakened Susanoo?" one Root shinobi said in disbelief. "How is that possible?"

"Looks like the intelligence was wrong," another Root shinobi said. "Xingye is far stronger than we imagined."

Xingye sneered. Susanoo wielded a Chakra Blade and swung it at the Root shinobi.

Boom!

The slash sent three Root shinobi flying. They crashed heavily to the ground, unable to fight.

"Retreat!"

One of them shouted and prepared to flee.

"Trying to escape?" Xingye sneered. "None of you are leaving today."

Xingye appeared in front of the three Root shinobi in an instant, his Chakra Blade slashing straight at them.

All three Root shinobi were knocked down, unable to fight.

Xingye dismissed Susanoo and looked at the six Root shinobi lying on the ground.

"Tell Danzo," Xingye said coldly, "if he still wants to come after me, he'd better be prepared to pay the price."

The Root shinobi didn't dare talk back. They hurriedly fled the Uchiha Clan Compound.

The next day, Danzo received the news: all six Root jonin had failed.

"This child... he's actually this strong..." Danzo was utterly shocked. "Susanoo? When did he awaken Susanoo?"

"And he defeated six Root jonin..." A complex look flickered in Danzo's single eye. "It seems Xingye is far stronger than we imagined."

"Lord Danzo, what should we do?" a Root shinobi asked.

Danzo fell silent for a moment, a vicious glint flashing in his eye.

"We must accelerate preparations for the Night of the Uchiha Massacre," Danzo ordered. "At the same time, contact the other villages and see if they're interested in dealing with the Uchiha Clan."

"Understood."

But Xingye had already been secretly gathering evidence of Danzo's plans to destroy the clan.

"Danzo, I've already uncovered your entire plan." Xingye looked at the intelligence he had collected, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "Now it's time for your downfall."

Just then, Fugaku walked in.

"Xingye," Fugaku said, looking at his son with a complex expression. "Has anything happened on Danzo's end?"

"Father, Danzo is planning to destroy our clan," Xingye said calmly. "But I've been secretly gathering evidence. Soon, I'll be able to completely ruin his plan."

Fugaku nodded, a trace of relief in his eyes.

"I knew you'd find a way." Fugaku patted Xingye on the shoulder. "But be careful. That old fox Danzo won't be easy to deal with."

"I'll be careful," Xingye said.

Fugaku fell silent for a moment, then said, "Xingye, I have a favor to ask."

"Go ahead, Father."

"If... if something really does happen," Fugaku said, looking at Xingye with a reluctant gaze, "I hope you can protect Itachi and safeguard the future of our Uchiha Clan."

Xingye looked at his father, deeply moved.

Fugaku nodded, relief shining in his eyes.
